“Amazing, unforgettable place” I spent a few weeks at South point Villa and it has been the best experience of all my life. The Villa is stunning and is just on the beach. The service is first class and the food is just perfect. I had so many candle light dinners under the stars listening to the Waves... I had snorkel, Swimmed in the infinity pool and enjoyed all the surrounding areas . It is the perfect place to relax or having fun with a 5 star ambience and service. It is just unforgettable!

“A stunning, tranquil location by the lake, a wonderful place to” Tranquil and idyllic, that's The Retreat ! The initial view from the terrace and pool looking out over the lake is stunning and a wonder to wake up to every morning. The jetty was a regular base in the evening for us, just to watch the sunsetting or to see the fireflies dancing around at night. As too was the cabana - a great social area at night or for just chilling out with a glass of wine or book in the hammock! The house is wonderfully spacious, extremely well equipped with everything you would need during a stay. Beautifully furnished with handmade furniture and decorated throughout with original local art pieces but equally up to date with all the modern comforts of home. This all comes with the added bonus of Prem and Senita, on site housekeepers , who could not do enough for us but were also very unobtrusive, whether it was putting cushions out on the sun loungers, shinning up the trees in the garden for coconuts or buying freshwater prawns from a passing local fisherman on the lake for us to eat for lunch. Philippa and Paul have built up some very good and extremely reliable local contacts in the area, including local drivers who were there whenever we needed them with their tuk-tuks at a few minutes notice,to take us to local attractions and restaurants in the evenings, as well mini bus guided tours of the island further afield. These guys were fantastic in how they looked after us, whether it was a ten minute tuk-tuk ride to buy locally caught fish for dinner or a 3 day guided tour of the island. They have a great local knowledge ,are happy to translate and will readily accompany you during any trips out, making exploring the local region all the more pleasurable. The location of The Retreat, attention to detail with the house,the friendly local people and fantastic food and sights makes this one of the most memorable holidays ever. “Amazing stay” We spent 3 days at Petals with our boys aged 7 and 10 - a special treat at the end of a busy two week trip travelling around Sri Lanka. We will not forget our stay! It was just the perfect place to finish a wonderful trip. The house is beautiful, comfortable and decorated with great taste and attention to detail. The garden is just perfect whether you are watching the birds or the monkeys in the tree tops from the terrace or relaxing by the pool. It is wonderfully peaceful yet only 5 minutes by tuk- tuk to the beach or 15 to atmospheric Galle. And Upud and Jahgar looked after us so well, always stricking the right balance. Upud's food was the best we had in Sri Lanka. His curry is really delicious. I actually find it quite hard to think back to our stay as I would very much love to be there. The boys said that in an ideal world this is were they would like to live. I can't say I disagree. Thanks to you all at Petals!
