“egyptian experience apartment review” "Glenne, thank you again for our stay in the apartment. we had an enjoyable and relaxing honeymoon! The weather in Egypt this time of year (November 2010) was amazing - although it was said they were having a heat wave! we enjoyed our time sat on the large balcony playing some of your board games! The bed was very comfortable and the apartment equipment with some handy extras eg snorkelling gear and towels. We found getting the blue minibuses - 'tut tuts' (to naama or nabq bay) very cheap and easy to flag down on the main road, and also used the resort minibus to take us to Sharks bay beach almost everyday, we loved it there relaxing on the sunbeds and snorkelling with some fantastic fish in the sea. we did the Ras Mohammed day trip also but the sea was very rough so there were several people sea sick - including myself :-( - would not recommend this trip unless you are a strong swimmer and keen snorkeller as that is the trip is for!Overall the apartment was comfortable, (pool was a little chilly!) and the people in the office helpful. Only downside is that we did not realise that we would have to get transport to go anywhere else, for food etc (ie too far to walk) so this did add up a bit.
Tip: do not go to the' sun rise aqua park' (next door to the resort) for food - it was expensive and not nice food.
“Fantastic Apartment, Want to go again!” When we arrived we were collected from the airport and taken to S1. On arrival we collected keys from Brian and shown in the apartment... All very Smooth!
Apartment has brillent amenities, everything you need in kitchen, great choice of DVDs in lounge, mobile phone and wifi was very useful. Swimming pools were also great.
Thanks so much Carole being so efficient and letting us her apartment!
We will be back!
“yes it was a nice apartment right over the pool, good kitchen, and beds.” would stay there again if I had not bought my own apartment out there, we enjoyed the two weeks that we were there, good view over the pool.
“Great location on the beach!” Lovely family size villa although only 2 of us rattling around in it! Great location and well equipped with all basics and a few nice additional touches with some essentials provided. Rooms large, airy with high ceilings, master bedroom has balcony and a sun deck, with sun beds also in the garden, or straight out onto the beach. Axel (owner) couldn't have been more helpful right from emails prior to booking, arranging collection from airport and offering to act as tour guide. First restaurants are 100m from the villa and lots of choice if you stroll all the way round to the cove, Italian was our favourite for dinner, also loved the Bedouin tent in front of the Coral beach Hotel. On windy days walked round to the cove where it is more sheltered. Ideal for wind surfing, kite surfing, snorkelling and diving or just chilling!
“Great apartment, friendly owner and manager, good location.” Daniel was very friendly and helpful from the start. The apartment was a great size and in a great location near to the main pools with a smaller pool just around the corner. The kitchen was well equipped and plenty of towels and linen available. The bedroom was a spacious and the lounge had loads of seating. It was quiet and peaceful around the complex even though it was busy. Would definitely stay here again. Many thanks for a great trip
“Beautifull beautifull beautifull!!!” I go on a regulary to Sharm on self catering base and out of experience I can tell this apartment is the most beautifull one ever where I stayed and definitely going back to it on my next visits!!
Everything you need for a self catering stay is available in the apartment. From the smallest fork/knife to the pots and pans ;-)
The only thing left for you to do is go shopping for your groceries in local supermarket and start relaxing!
What was really good as well is the local cell phone! Just buy some credit ( I bought for 25 Eg.Pound in the local Metro supermarket) to tip it up and you can text home for a whole week!
The decoration is very very nice! Especially the bedrooms!
The bathroom very clean with a washing machine.
Airconditioning is top! They're the most silent ones I ever had in local apartments.
Lightning super and 'cause of all the orange coloured notes it makes the apartment very cosy in the evening.
Bring your teacandles to make it even nicer!
Lynne allso left loads of nice adresses to go out for dinner, public beaches ( Pataya was the max for lounging and Shark's Bay for snorkling, tea and for lunch Umbi fish restaurant!) if you like in a basket on the living room table.
And I allmost forgot to mention the bedouin cussians on the terras! A pleasure to sit on,relaxing in the evening gazing at the Egyptian starry sky while drinking tea ;-)
The resort is very calm and staff really helpfull and polite.
And Lynne is the most helpfull person for any questions or needs.
I loved it!
We'll keep in touch ;-)
“Fantastic location. Brilliant for families learning scuba or snorkelling” Our 3rd visit in a row to sharks bay oasis which shows how much we like the place. We booked our flights through Monarch in the uk 6 months before leaving and saved over £600 so do book flights early. When you go, do visit soho square which is a 5 minute taxi ride away but get a free VIP membership card from the management office which is near the food court by the central fountain as it gives you 25% off food and drink. Also for diving do check out butterfly divers which are next to the new lift in sharks bay as the team are great there. Osama and the dive crew are brilliant with kids (and adults). We did a wreck dive, night dive and two dive courses and my son is only 11 and I have now passed my rescue diving course and my son is a junior advanced diver. Go for it!
“Good value apartment” This self catering apartment is good value. It is one-bedroomed with a separate lounge/kitchen with TV which includes some US/UK channels with news and films - no mainstream UK channels. We hired portable WIFI (£3/day) which was 100% reliable all arranged by Lee who owns the apartment. We were picked up from the airport as arranged and all went smoothly. There is a private roof terrace which I imagine is boiling in Summer but there will be more of a breeze up there. In January you will be warmer by the pool.
Some people would be terrified at the thought of self-catering in Sharm, but the only hassle is from the shopkeepers who will literally cross the road to get to you, so just hail one of the local taxis or better still the little blue private minibuses for 1 egyptian pound (10p) to get to where you are going. Just shout STOP when you want to get off. Its an experience but funny. The locals working in bars are very friendly and we spent most evenings in the Union Jack pub just outside the complex. We also eat there during the day and several evenings. We also went to the Three Crowns which has a more varied menu (the Vindaloo was superb as were the fillet steaks) and twice went to Peking restaurant down the road. The pool at the apartment is huge, very clean, but very cold in January. An English couple we met said its nice and warm by mid-April. If you want peace and quiet during the day then this is the place for you - there is literally nobody around the huge pool at all. The weather was superb - 30 centigrade every day but you lose the sun by 4.30 pm, my advice would be to get up earlier than normal on holiday - Egypt needs to be 4 hours ahead of GMT not 2 hours in my opinion. When they say 'partly cloudy' on the forecast, that equates to aeroplane trails in the sky - the weather is far more reliable than say Tenerife at this time of year.
Sharm is struggling at the mo as people are not travelling to Egypt, and the vast majority who do travel never leave their All-inc hotels which is a shame, but there is absolutely no trouble here at all. The area needs some TLC as a whole, apart from Soho Square which is worth a visit, but the weather makes up for that. Oh and the snorkelling is amazing, I cannot do it justice with words, just go and do it!!
