“Beautiful Home- stay” Amid a lush green ambience serenity, Varka, Goa, is the ultimate get away from routine everyday stresses. Beautiful and tastefully done-up interiors add great value to the comfort of this hygenically maintained resort. The swimming experience in the Infinity pool and relaxing at the pool- side is awesome. Hospitality is personalised and warm , transport & coveyance is easily available. I have immensely enjoyed my stay here for the last three years.

“Great house and ideally situated” The house was spot on and we would highly recommend it. If ever we re-visit Goa we would like to stay there again. The beach is wonderful and the two shacks, Blue Sky and the other one next door, we highly recommend. The waiter in Blue Sky, Francisco was especially helpful and lovely. We only have one tiny complaint, but this has nothing really to do with you, the taxi Romeo was way too expensive and we felt that we were ripped off, but didn’t realise until the second week, as we really didn’t use anybody else before that. A car is not essential as many taxis are available but it would have been handy as there are no shops within walking distance

“Fabulous relaxing family holiday - didn't want to leave!” We have just returned from a wonderful 2 week holiday on Varca Beach - glorious sunshine every day with a lovely cool sea breeze - just perfect! My husband, 4 year old son and I stayed in B4, a 2 bedroom poolside bungalow over Christmas and New Year (our bungalow was painted yellow for comparison to the advert photos.) The owners, Archie and Jane were very helpful from when we first contacted them via HomeAway.co.uk. Always promptly replying to our e-mails and answering all our questions. When we first arrived at Tarika Gold Coast Villas, we were a little apprehensive given we were on a dirt track at the rear of the property. However it had been a long journey and we were tired. After a good night's sleep we were able to see the place for what it truly is - a very laid back, quiet and relaxed area that gave us a great family holiday. In response to some negative reviews - yes, the exterior of the complex is a little run down / looks a little dated, however, you are not paying 5 star rates and therefore you cannot expect the accommodation to be 5 star. I expect Tarika Gold Coast Villas are quite luxurious for local standards - but if you do want UK standards of luxury, you'd be better to book one of the many hotels instead. Inside, our bungalow certainly was not dated (new tv, fully equipped kitchen, large wardrobes in both bedrooms, washing machine etc). It had everything in it we needed and was very clean. The housekeeper Amelia was really lovely and made sure we had whatever we needed. Before we left the UK, we were aware that power cuts are a normal part of life in Goa and many places have back up generators. We did have 3 power cuts during our 2 week stay, however they didn't last for more than a few minutes and then everything was back to normal. There is also a water filter in the bungalow. We were dubious to begin with and bought bottled water for the first couple of days. However, we then tried the filtered water and had no problems at all. Even though bottled water is very cheap to buy (about 18 pence for a litre bottle), the amount of plastic bottles you go through is concerning, as is seeing a lot of plastic bottles of water to purchase that are sitting out in the sun all day. There's a great little restaurant, Toncia just outside of the complex where we ate quite a lot, as well as at the various beach shacks. Zumbrai was by far the best shack - lovely owners and great food. The food is very cheap and very fresh and it was great to have so much seafood available. We took GBP with us and were able to exchange to Rs at all the beach shacks at a live rate which was great. £1 was buying Rs100 while we were there. The beach is a 5 minute walk from the complex (with a 4 year old in tow). The beach is vast and beautiful. We were looking to escape the crowds and just chill-out as a family and that's exactly what we got. There is plenty of room to play ball or throw a frisbee and not get in anyone's way. The sunbeds are free at all the beach shacks providing you buy drinks or meals there. We weren't particularly interested in many trips given they would not be very interesting for our son. However, we did want to take him on an elephant ride without doing the tour of the spice farm as well (which you do if you go in an organised group). We booked a taxi and went to Sahakari which was approx. a 40 minute drive away. It cost 700Rs for an adult elephant ride and another 700Rs for an elephant bath. Children under 6 were 400Rs for each. Our son loved it and it was definitely a highlight of the trip. We have travelled to various countries and always look to go somewhere different. However, we had such a wonderful time in Goa that we would love to return one day. If you do your research and know what to expect when you get there, I'm sure you will have as wonderful a holiday as we did. Many thanks Archie and Jane and hopefully we will see you again!
