“Amazing homebase for our Jamaican adventures!” My wife and I stayed at Cabarita Lookout with 3 other couples in early February 2014, and I would recommend it wholeheartedly to other travellers who are looking to experience Jamaica outside of its cruiseship port destinations. The house itself is great. It's quite new, has plenty of space, and each bedroom has its own private bathroom. The house had wifi, though we tried to keep our devices off for the most part (but it was nice for streaming music to the bluetooth-equipped speakers they have around the place)! I loved the main dining table--it's about 16 feet long and could fit a huge family. The house has million dollar views from the patio or from the pool deck. Sharon and Natalie, the cooks/housekeepers, and Cutty, the driver/all-around-helpful-guy-for-whatever-you-need, were all extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast typically included eggs and pancakes and a huge plate of fresh fruit. Sharon took requests for dinner (and also provides recommendations), and the result was always authentic, fresh, home-cooked Jamaican food. Cutty is quite the character, in a very good way. He seems to know everyone and everything in the area. He recommended a scuba diving company and drove my wife and I there, and it was perfect. He arranged for some local fishermen/budding tour guides to take us to Black Sand Beach and guide us on a hike to a remote waterfall--highly recommended. He'll also provide roundtrip shuttle to and from the airport, which is key. It was a little strange basically having our own private driver on this trip, it definitely felt more luxurious than our typical vacations where we tend to rely on public transportation. The house is located a relatively short drive from a ton of spots worth visiting. You could plan out your trip in advance, or just sit down with Cutty on the first night and plan your trips for the week then. Tl;dr: 5 stars, awesome house, awesome views, awesome people in Sharon and Cutty. Will be going back.

“I'm so glad I picked this place to celebrate my birthday.” This was my first visit to Jamaica, but it will certainly not be my last. I came across this condo through a friend of mine and I was not disappointed. The view is breathtaking and a nice little scroll to the beach.The condo itself was very comfortable, it reminded me of a home away from home with all the amenities. “Just Simply Fantastic!!” Eight of us went (2 Families) and a better time couldn't have been had! From the moment we arrived we were greeted by what started out as "the staff" by what turned into another family to us. The house is phenomenal affording us every luxury we could ask for but it was the people that made it so very special. Mornings spent sipping our coffee on the veranda (always ready when we awoke). Breakfast followed served to us sitting outdoors overlooking the beautiful waters of the sea. After which we spent many a day just sitting on the veranda and swimming either in the beautiful pool or in the pristine waters right off the dock. Lunch served to us also outdoors overlooking the same waters and those dinners that Ms. Cherry would cook up were to die for. Brian, Pauline and Elvis would take care of the rest. Brian always wanting to do more for us. Pauline making sure there was a place for everything and everything was in it's place. Better people I would be hard pressed to find. So loving. So caring. As I mentioned before, they became less of a staff and more of a family to us. I could go on and on but I will simply say if you're looking for a tropical vacation away "from it all", look no further and book Scotchies now. My family and I have memories that will last us a lifetime...or...until we return which we hope will be sometime real soon. We miss it already!

“Amazing Villa and Staff - Truly Phenomenal” Our group of 17 couldn't have imagined a better stay. We had 11 adults and 6 kids (age 3 and under). We were a little scared about whether a villa could handle such a load. I can say without any reservation that this was the best rental experience I've ever had (and we've rented 7 properties across North america and the Caribbean over the last 7 years). L'Horizon distinguishes itself from other rentals in the following ways: 1) Unprecedented customer service and a very warm, loving staff. Dealing with Barrington, the owner, was absolutely seamless. The staff, including Miss Sandra, Miss amanda, Miss Evis, and Miss Kellie treated us like our own family. They were icredibly warm and loving to our young kids. 2) The Villa is a site to behold. It is full of white marble and is cleaned constantly! The bedrooms are huge, a/cs in working order, and there was simplyi an abundance of living space. The pool's temperature was absolutely perfect, was cleaned everyday, and the more time we spent oustide, the more we appreciated the immaculately kept garden and landscaping. There were mango trees, almond trees, and beautiful flowers throughout the property. The pool is absolutely huge with ample patio space for everyone. 3) The food was absoutely delicious. We had cooked lobster, roasted pork, salt fish fritters, goat stew, fresh fruit, and much more that I haven't included. They put a lot of love and care into preparing food for us and were flexible packing us picnic food in case we wanted to do an outside excursion. 4) Barrington made a driver available to us for random trips outside at a moment's notice. They were incredibly helpful, even helping us navigate local waterfalls (e.g., the Blue Hole - a must visit) with our young children. 5) The local beach (a 8 minute walk) was effectively a private beach. We had dinner once there and it was incredible. The cocktail staff was also very warm and inviting.
