“So you want a relaxing holiday ?” What a lovely sailing boat . All your needs catered for and the attention to detail is so good. The staff are fantastic and so quick at providing coffee/tea when asked.The variety of local cuisine was very good.The weather was perfect and not too hot with the cooling breeze of sailing. The rooms are so comfortable and the air con worked so well, although it is not really needed at this time of year.

So good, I'm just about to book two more visits

Kharvilla is a fantastic place to stay with stunning views over the Nile from both the second and third floors. Swimming in the pool was the perfect way to relax after a day sightseeing, and unwinding on the top floor, eating dinner and watching the sun go down over the Nile was fantastic. Freda and Edward are amazing hosts – not only is their apartment a charming place to stay, but also they were extremely helpful in every way, before and during our visit, to make our stay in Luxor a special experience. The apartment is like a true oasis in the middle of the gritty and somewhat chaotic street culture of an Egyptian town. Not a typical tourist neighborhood, but still an easy walk to Luxor Temple. From the street entrance, you would not think that you are entering such a fine, well-kept, and beautiful apartment, yet to stay there is simply wonderful. Freda and Edward obviously care very much for the place and for their guests. They were very careful and thorough with advice on tour guides and activities, and truly generous with their time to make specific arrangements directly with the guides, so that we could save time and make the most of our short 2 night visit. Even though there are amazing ancient places that anyone can see in Luxor, Freda and Edward made our overall experience truly unique and pleasurable. … see more

VILLA ROSAMUND
Stunning Villa to unwind and relax in, whilst exploring the delights of the Nile Valley.

Villa Rosamund really is a beautiful and authentic Egyptian villa, situated on Luxor's much quieter West bank of the Nile. My friends and I were collected from the airport by the Khyry the Villa manger, and from that point on we were looked after like royalty. Upon arriving at Villa Rosamund we were greeted by the friendly local staff and made to feel instantly at home. We were shown to our large rooms and given a tour of the amenities. There was so much room that even with 5 couples we had our share of the bathrooms and 2 kitchens. A fresh breakfast was served on the roof terrace each morning, consisting of all local produce. Khyry was always on hand with great advice for local restaurants and Shopping. Not to mention his vast knowledge on the local Temples and Valley's of the Kings and Queens. It really helped to get advice on the local customs and have tips on the best times of the day to visit the different Tombs and temples. Highlights for us included a hot air ballon ride over the Nile Valley and a Felucca Sailing trip on the Nile itself. Magical. My friends and I are already planning our next trip. Gareth, London. Farasha House-Luxurious Duplex On The Nile
Perfect Family get-away spot!

Could not have enjoyed our stay at the Farasha House more. I was traveling with my Mom, Dad, Brother and Boyfriend and it had ample space, toilets, showers, and balconies, so we never felt like we were stepping on each other and gave us just the right amount of privacy. It is on the 3rd floor, and is two stories, so if you have mobility issues do keep this is mind (my mom had bad knees, but we managed). Has everything you need in the kitchen to make any meals, a little cafe on site, and the basics are available through the office. The office is super friendly and accommodating. Great pool, and the most stunning views over the Nile. The rooftop is not to be missed. I wish we could have stayed longer, as it is self-catering, we needed a bit of time to get all the things we needed, but Ali, the driver recommended by the host was happy to take us to the shops if we needed. Do keep in mind that it is a bit out of town, so you will need a driver to get around, but you are close to the Valley of the Kings, which made the days a bit shorter when touristing. And the quiet you get from being out of town was just what we needed after a week in the bustling Cairo. Also, the host was excellent. A great "house bible" that gives you all the information you need, from where to eat, to how to tip and more. Super responsive on emails with any questions when they came up too. Very helpful! Cannot wait to come back and stay for longer! Side note of things I wish people told me about Egypt, bring your own alcohol. I know, I know it's a Muslim country, I should have known! The beer is good, but the gin is BAD. You have to find someone that can sell you imported hard liquor, and that is less easy to find. Stock up on duty free at the airport before you go, because you will need it on that roof! … see more
