“Quiet cabin in the woods with hikes nearby” Camp Hatteras is a real find and served our purposes very well. We were two couples who get together once a year for a hiking trip, this time in the Adirondacks. The cabin is indeed quiet and there is no sight nor sound of humans anywhere close. It is very close to the VIC (Visitor Interpretive Center) at Paul Smith’s College, which has several delightful trails through the woods and the wetlands. Also, many other trails are near. The owners live nearby and were at our door within a few minutes when we mentioned a couple of small issues. They were dealt with successfully. The Internet isn’t blazing fast, but works. The cabin shows that it is well-cared for and clean. I am so glad we chose to stay here rather than in the congestion of Saranac Lake or Lake Placid (the lake may be placid but the town isn’t).

“so much to do starting at the dock behind the cottage on Horseshoe pond” so many canoe & kyack lakes, ponds and streams a short distance from here. everything you would need is in Malone 15 mi. away, not a small town.

“Wonderful!” What a cute, cozy, comfy place. I had emailed Ella (owner) on another place she had which turned out to be rented for the weekend, and she quickly offered this to us. We didn't actually spend much time at the cottage as we were at Hunter Mountain for a music festival. Hunter Mountain was about 15-20 minutes away and Windham Mountain was close as well. Prattsville is a nice little town, small grocery store nereby, a newly opened "department" type store was very nice as well. The staff at the store were very helpful as well. If we go back to Hunter Mt for anything, we would most likely stay here again. Definitely worth the price!

“The perfect LP camp experience.” We loved our time at the Cook Camp. It sings Lake Placid with its warm decor and nice amenities. There are beautiful views from the dock and it is accessible by boat only making it feel more "away"... yet we were only 10 minutes from town. The family was a pleasure to deal with.

“Quiet, cozy cottage in the Catskills” Ella was a wonderful host. We completed all communication via email or telephone including check-in and check-out instructions which was helpful as we arrived late in the night. The cottage is very small, but cozy. There was enough room for 2 of us to cook meals and hang out in the kitchen. Bathroom is small and has no sink but there was plenty of hot water. Overall and comfortable and cheap place to stay near activities in the Catskills :) Thanks Ella.
