“The perfect place” Rental was easy, Owner worked with us prior to arrival answering all our questions about the home, amenities and the lake. When we arrived the home was very clean, neat, well furnished and ready for us. The home is not directly on the lake but had a good view of it. A two minute walk and we were on the dock and boarding the boat. (A good thing about being where this home is located is you don't get all of the noise and can quietly relax). The kids could play in the yard and you didn't have to be afraid of them falling in the water every minute. I will be staying there again next year.

“Great Getaway Cabin” My fiancee and I stayed at Red Run Cabin for a little weekend getaway vacation to Deep Creek and we absolutely loved it. The cabin is tucked in behind a small condo complex, but absolutely retains its secluded mountain cabin feel. The house was very clean and had all of the amenities we needed for our stay (including good WiFi). There is a nice wood burning fireplace insert in the main floor living room, which we spent most of our time next to. The finished basement is very spacious (includes 3rd bedroom off to the side) with lots of fun games to play, including a foosball table, bumper pool, chess/checkers, lots of board games, and a Wii system with several controllers and lots of games. The basement also has a wood burning stove that heats the whole basement up very nicely (be sure to follow the fire building instructions on the wall to the left and have the damper opened up fully, otherwise it's really easy to smoke out the whole downstairs). There is a nice outdoor firepit and picnic table in the front yard and hot tub right off of the back deck (didn't use the hot tub, but it looked very clean has a cleaning/maintenance logbook that seems to be regularly tended to). The cabin is very close to everything in the deep creek area; lots of shops and restaurants about 5 minutes away, Wisp resort about 10 minutes north, Oakland about 10 minutes south (lots of antique shops), and Swallow Falls State Park about 5 minutes west. I highly recommend visiting the park and hiking around the ~1.5 mile loop trail to see both Swallow Falls as well as Muddy Creek Falls, absolutely beautiful! I HIGHLY recommend this cabin and would love to make a return trip soon!

“Great place for a group get-away!” We rented this place as part of our annual trip to Deep Creek for the Savageman Triathlon festival, there were 11 people (3 couples and 5 singles) so we needed a place with adequate space. Needless to say, this place had plenty. The house itself is very large with a big kitchen, dining room, living room, rec room, and patio. The bedrooms were of good size and no one complained about not having enough room or feeling crapmed with so many people there. There was wifi, multiple plasma/lcd TVs, a Wii, board games, and all the amenities one could posibbly need for a fun weekend trip. Location wise was great as well being only a few minutes from the Discovery Center, and just a quick drive to the main drag with food and dining. We didn't get to use the hot tub, the firepit or the dock but they were nice additions. The house was clean and pretty well taken care of. I would not hesitate to rent this again if we needed a palce with the size and ammenities this one offers.

“Vista is an amazing home in a gorgeous pastoral setting, in the” The description of Vista is certainly accurate, but we found it to be even better in person. Vista is a very special place that reflects the love and care of the Batten family. The spotless, comfortable, spacious home offers unobstructed country views showing off the Maryland countryside. The well-equipped kitchen and new gas BBQ made it easy to prepare meals. All of the outdoor areas are inviting to watch the active bird feeders, eating on the patio or deck, glimpsing the fish in the pond and watching sunsets and approaching thunderstorms. Vista is highly recommended! Vista provides a perfect base from which to explore the many historical sites. Chris and Melissa were available to answer any questions we had and made welcome suggestions, as did Bruce. The four of us stayed at Vista for 9 days and it was truly difficult to leave our new friends Chris and Melissa. As my friend said, "Every day we were so glad to have this slice of heaven to come home to." Rating 5 out of 5
