I won't go into a great tirade of problems as I have listed them for the owner. Suffice to say the cleanliness and maintenance of this property is definitely not up to letting standard. You know how… More
I'm sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your time at our villa. We have had no other adverse comments about the cleanliness and maintenance of the property, in fact quite the opposite. We don't have a back up generator... as in this day and age very, very few people do. We are sorry you suffered a short power cut. I think that to say the power cut lasted a whole day is a little exaggerated - it was a rarity and lasted no longer than a couple of hours. We are also sorry it was so hot - most people are aware that it can get warm in southern Spain in August - but we are aware that some people find the heat difficult to cope with. The pool can be very refreshing on the warmer days. The villa is not advertised with the use of a garage. I keep my olive-harvesting equipment in the garage. My storing the harvesting equipment in the garage has never been an issue with any other guest, but I am aware it was an issue for you, but I can't understand why. There is ample shaded parking at the villa with space for 6 cars. You say you felt the villa ill-equipped. Others have said it is well-equipped and homely. Our bedding & towels come from Carrefour at the lovely Parque Almenara shopping centre close by. Quality-wise it was obviously not up to your expectations, but like the rest of the villa, all of the linen was fresh and clean for your arrival. The electric gate is big enough to get a small lorry through. Most guests don't arrive lorries so we've never had a problem with guests getting through the gate!!!
Villa Almenara - Quirky, interesting DETACHED villa with pool near Mediterranean
Superb location, very private, with Martin as an excellent host
The location of this property is superb. Lying in the Guadalatin valley about six miles south of Lorca it is surrounded by fields growing melons, broccoli, asparagus and olive groves. A large flock of sheep led by the shepherd wander in biblical fashion about the landscape. The house is comfortable with pull down fly screens on every window and very private with large hedges to the front and an olive grove at the side. The pool is small but deep enough to jump in, swim and cool off. The Sunday market at Purias is well worth a visit with easy parking and the freshest possible vegetable's and is only ten minutes away. We had a glorious three weeks in May with virtually constant sunshine. …
