“An architectual, elegant, idyllic home situated on Shela Beach w” This beautiful home will comfortably welcome you if you are 2 or 12 in your party. There is a quiet corner for everyone. Gentle breezes thru every door and window along with beautiful views. The chef presents delicious meals from the fresh seafood brought to your door every day. We enjoyed the sounds below of the local 'goings on'. The sundowners on the terrace. Returning home with the greatest sense of relaxation, we feel there is nothing that compares to Forodhani House.
“Great time” The service provided by the onsite caretaker, Katana, was amazing. He made the entire experience what it was. Katana was friendly, hardworking, dependable, and trustworthy.
The home itself was good and clean with good accommodations. However, the view was not as good as we had hoped. We were blocked from seeing much of the water by the other buildings, most of which were run down. However, there was a slight view. Nevertheless, spending time on the rooftop was a great way to start and end the day.
The nearest mosque was very close, and the speakers were almost right outside our bedroom window. So 4:30am call to prayers blasted us awake daily. The next call to prayer came about 20 minutes later, so returning to sleep was almost impossible. The early mornings took a toll.
The island of Lamu was fun and beautiful. I would have liked being closer to Shela beach. However, we also enjoyed spending time in Lamu town and we enjoyed apendalo house. The owner was good to work with and Katana made the whole experience better than it would have been anywhere else.
