“Wonderful place” I believe I was the first renter in this studio, and it was a welcome change from my previous hostal.
Stuart was a very gracious host, he and his wife met me with roses and a full tour of the facilities. They made me feel right at home, even down to the alpaca blankets on the bed from his ranch.
The kitchen was stocked with good-quality pots and pans, dishes, etc., a toaster, microwave, cutting board, coffee maker (for the fabulous Lojano coffee), and the shower had endless hot water (although it takes about 10 minutes of water running for the on-demand heater to really kick in).
Although I didn't have pets, a neighbor did, and it's good that Stuart will allow his guests to have their furry companions with them. And the garden area was exquisite.
All in all, I would certainly make this my first choice were I coming to stay in Cuenca again. It's a real gem of a place, with a real gem of an owner/host.
“The Best Condo For Rent” A well-appointed, comfortable condo. A good fit for our needs of a 2-week stay. Good security. Easy access to catch a cab to anywhere. Close walk to the Yunancay River. Owner very cooperative and responsive to our needs.
“Three Thumbs Up” Our family of three stayed at Darwin's apartment for exactly one month (wish we stayed longer). The place is immaculate, with brand new furniture, facilities and everything that you need to feel comfortable, like at home. The building is located near a bus stop (with a bus #10 taking you right to the centre of Cuenca), two convenience stores, a bakery, cafes/restaurants, and a short walking distance to a big market, Mercado El arenal, where you can pick up fresh produce. It may seem that the building is located a bit far from the centre, but we preferred staying a bit away from the hustle and bustle. It's only a 10 minute bus ride or a 5 minute taxi ride right to the heart of Cuenca.
Darwin is a very friendly and helpful person, always available whenever we had a question or needed advice.
We would definitely recommend this apartment to our friends and anyone looking for a great place to stay in Cuenca.
Thank you, Darwin!
“Brand new with great owners.” my wife and I recently stayed at 2 different apartments in the same building both owned by Oscar. Both had first class furnishings, high ceilings (I would guess 10 FT) and the owners there almost everyday to handle any questions or concerns (they have a Boutique on the first floor). One block from Remigio Crespo a four lane divided stree with lots of restaurants, bars, and services. About 6 blocks to El Centro the old town which we walked almost every day. Love Cuenca, loved this space. Five starts all the way.
