“True Immersion -- Lifetime Experience” There are not enough words to convey how wonderful of a time I had, the week I stayed at Daisy's home. If you are looking for true immersions; living among the locals... this is the place. Her penthouse is spacious and clean. It's located in a condo/apartment complex with a guard house. In addition, for incidentals there is a little convenience store on the premises. If you'd like you can ask Daisy to organize local trips around Guilin as well as restaurants. Pretty much if need something done she and her husband, a doctor of massage therapy, can make it happen. If you ask her husband he will give you a massage at the penthouse; for a fee. Her home is quite comfortable and all the rooms have aC. The location is not in downtown Guilin and that was ok for us. But a 5 min bus from in front of the complex will get you to supermarkets, a small mall, restaurants, and banks. If you are willing to learn Chinese and willing to speak English to children, Daisy has a school that teaches English to elementary school kids. We took advantage of that and did a lot of local activities with the children and their families. I felt very welcome in Daisy's home and in Guilin. So happy I lived among the locals.

“Clean, affordable apartment convenient to subway and tourist attractions” The location was very convenient to the airport express and the subway which gets you to almost all the tourist attractions. The apartment was clean and bright, the bed and bedding comfortable. There was a small heat wave during our visit, so we really appreciated the efficient air-conditioning and the drinking water provided by the apartment owner. The kitchen was basic but we found such incredibly inexpensive little restaurants right behind the building for breakfast that we could not justify cooking! The restaurant on the ground floor was also pretty good, so we only used the fridge to store some fruit and pretty well just ate out. It is great to have laundry facilities although the dryer was not very efficient, something we did not bother investigating. The owner is very responsive when we needed anything, so we highly recommend this rental with the caveat: this is not a luxury rental.

“Good experience” Thank you everyone at East apartments for being so accommodating! We had a great stay in a comfortable, clean and well kept serviced apartment. Before we left for our trip I had heard many a story about the inconveniences and discomfort one can experience in China. This wasn't the case at all. The apartment was in a completely developed area with every amenity we could need (ie: April Gourmet, a ton of restaurants and a huge shopping mall). The apartment itself was spacious with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. It was clean and stocked with everything we needed. The staff was efficient and informative and was there for any questions we had. The only problem was an unpleasant smell that came from the bathrooms once a day around the same time. Since then we've learned it's due to the specific style of pluming China uses. Overall it was a treat and I would definitely recommend it.

“Great Weekend in Discovery Bay” My family and I stayed in this 2 bedroom apartment in Discovery Bay over the Chinese New Year Weekend. Annie and Marie were excellent hosts, assisting us with travel logistics (local iPhone apps for ferry and bus services), etc and making recommendations on activities and restaurants. I highly recommend this apt for anyone looking to stay outside of HK, but within a 25-30 minute direct ferry ride to Central Hong Kong island. Also we found the living and lifestyle in Discovery Bay to be almost resort like, yet just outside of Hong Kong. It is also convenient for those going to Disney land as well. The only concern is be aware that private cars and Taxis are not allowed in the complex. However, the public transportation system is excellent and runs on time: from the airport, to the metro system, via ferry and within the complex. Enjoy.
