Dali Wuzi
Heavenly - a taste of the good life in old China

The moment we walked into Dali Wuzi, we fell in love. Dali Wuzi is a thoughtfully restored traditional wooden courtyard house, with many lovely original details throughout. We loved the atmosphere of old world charm with wooden beams and red lanterns. It also had all the modcons and amenities, including luxurious bathrooms, and a lovely, well-equipped kitchen plus high-speed internet and much more. The central courtyard featured a plum tree in bloom, comfortable lounge chairs to recline and watch the clouds and enjoy the silence. The four of us were so comfortable here that we often didn't even really feel like stepping out. Dali Wuzi is just five minutes walk from the southern gate of the ancient town, and even closer to a number of good, local restaurants. We saw local Bai minority culture by following a group of Bai women to a nearby fire temple. We also went to a local market which takes place every month on the Western Gate of the ancient town. There are many places worth visiting in and around Dali including the ancient town of Xizhou. Dali Wuzi is a heaven and a base to explore the region. Taxi is really easy to get and the most important thing is that Joe will be there for you whenever you need help or advice. Highly recommended!see more
