Everything we needed plus fabulous terrace and music.
We stayed here for 2 weeks at the end of Oct 2014. We wanted to live in a district that was populated by locals and not tourists.
Also close to the hills of Granada that we could walk out and back.
Also walk easily into town and catch the local buses to villages where our walks started.
Also coming home the ability to pop in to various eateries in the centre of Granada for tapas.
This property fulfilled the above and was pleasant to come home to and relax on the large terrace overlooking the whole fabulous view of the plain of Granada, with the setting sun warming us.
The one room apartment is really cosy and pleasant. decorated with atmospheric art work.....everything that one may need is provided...(a loo, and washroom/shower off the main room) ....tv, sound system, and wifi , a selection of cd's and dvd's . Comfortable furniture and various nooks and crannies to place our stuff.
The sounds of town life : The only noticeable traffic drives (3floors down below the apartment ) one way steeply down downhill... but only at about 8.00am as it is used as a rat run for commuters.
Fridays and Saturday nights at weekends can be lively in the streets as this is a university city.
And the Spanish can discuss their family and personal problems volubly at 2 or 3 in the morning. Very healthily reminding the rest of us of the paradox of life.
Also there are occasional cat and dog noises.
We unreservedly recommend this apartment for all couples ( apart from those that cannot walk uphill and steps for 150 meters,as taxis cannot get to the front door.) We agree withf the previous positive reviews. Manuel provides a great welcome package ... various foods.. drinks ..notes on touring , tapas, restaurants...etc.
The Alhambra ( if that is what you would like to see.....book the Nasrid Palaces at least two weeks before you go ...online ..) .... is within a short distance....uphill...for a fit 68 year old......20 mins walk. If visiting Granada on a Saturday or Sunday and wish to eat lunch in a decent establishment populated by locals then remember that on those days there will be many grandparents and children affecting the outcome of your tapas experience..so patience...enjoy. …

Best apartment in Realejo
This one bedroom apartment is located in the Realejo neighborhood in Granada. It is off the usual tourist path but only a 10 minute walk to downtown and 10 minutes in the other direction to the Alhambra, a United Nations world heritage site. You are within a few minutes of coffee shops, restaurants with great Tapas, and markets to purchase food if you want to cook at home in the apartment kitchen. The apartment has wifi, a TV and a great flamenco radio station. The kitchen is fully equipped and the original paintings add a great personal touch.
The owner Manuel Moreno is a gracious host and can help you with the logistics of the neighborhood and any other questions or concerns you may have. He was even kind enough to tolerate my poor Spanish although his English is quite good.
If you are looking for a great apartment at a reasonable price to study Flamenco, Spanish or just enjoy what the city has to offer this place is for you. …
