Family Friendly Holidays in Cape Town - Holiday Lettings
“A rare find in Camp's Bay” So unusual to find a one-bedroom accommodation in Camp's Bay with it's own swimming pool. Adriatic at Funkey is so cleverly designed around a generous sized swimming pool that is dedicated solely to this accommodation. More like a villa than what you would expect from a one-bedroom apartment, this place is ideal for a couple looking for privacy whilst being near to all the action in Camp's Bay. The unobtrusive yet attentive service from the owners (who live on-site) is in keeping with the feeling of having a place all to yourself. Hope this doesn't become too popular as we want to be able book it for our next stay! We had a great time, much better than staying at a hotel as we have done in the past in Camp's Bay.
“Wonderful Home Away From Home!” If you're lucky enough to visit Cape Town South Africa, Blackwood Log Cabin is where you want to stay. This place is FANTASTIC. The accommodations are perfect with views of Table Mountain National Park just across a wooded valley and gardens on the property landscaped with beautiful native plants and even fish ponds and a pool! Don't know about you but when I think of a log cabin I envision camping out or at least living rather rustic. There's nothing about Blackwood Log Cabin that's rustic. It offers full privacy and all comforts that a visitor to this wonderful country could ask for. To complete the vacation package, you get to meet the owners Colette and Warren Riley. They made us feel so very welcome and offered much appreciated tourism information that was always right on the mark.
Do we recommend Blackwood...YES. Would we stay here again...that's another resounding YES!
“Cape Town at its best” I spent a fortnight at Kalk Bay House. My only complaint is that our holiday wasn't longer.
The house could not have a more ideal location. It sits across the road from the ocean, a mere hop and a skip from a blissful tidal pool and a short walk from Fish Hoek beach. From the lounge you gaze across False Bay to Simonstown, or back towards the mountains that tower over Gordon's Bay. You can amble along Main Road in one direction, to catch a breakfast in Kalk Bay and then explore the fishing harbour, or in other to pick up the catwalk and stroll above the breakers beyond Fish Hoek. The station too is just five minutes away, so you don't need a car to get almost anywhere in Cape Town.
Pam and Johan Verheem, and their two sons, are the perfect hosts: they leave you entirely to yourself unless you need assistance, then nothing is too much trouble. They are charming, helpful and discreet.
The house itself was everything we wanted from a holiday home: modern but cosy, fully equipped and comfortable. My wife and I still long for the balmy evenings spent at Kalk Bay House, the picture windows wide open so that the sounds of the waves, the tang of sea spray and the crash of whales breaching just beyond the rocks combined to create an unforgettable memory of Cape Town.
“An apartment with the best views of Camps Bay” My wife and I + 2 boys aged 9 and 11, stayed In the Panarama apartment in april 2013 and had a wonderful 9 day visit. The apartment was newly decorated and fitted out with all the mod cons a family could wish for. The owner, Vicky and her family were available to meet us and ensure we settled ina nd were always available should we have needed them for anything (lthough we didnt call upon their services as we experienced no issues during our stay). The views were magnificent, 12 apostles behind you, Lions Head to the front and Camps Bay beach to the left...perfect. would recommend staying at this great little retreat!
