“wonderful loaction” Had a wonderful stay at the Pad. It is well located for all local amenities, is lovely and clean, and includes everything you may need to enjoy your stay. James and Julia were brill throughout (thanks again to Julia for rescuing us when we locked ourselves out!!) I will definately be back.
“Good location, good facilities” The apartment is located just a short walk from the main shopping/restaurant area and within walking distance of the beach. It's generally well furnished and equipped and has everything you would usually need for a holiday. We especially liked how instructions for things like the TV or washing machine were just where you needed them and not contained in a stuffed folder, though a bit more information might have been handy, for example the location of the rubbish bins.
We did have one or two criticisms - the only mirrors were in the bathrooms and there was a distinct lack of flat surfaces on which to put e.g. a hairbrush.
The remainder of this review is specifically for anyone with restricted mobility or who is a wheelchair user, and is intended to provide information, not criticise. Though the description does say to contact the owner regarding wheelchair access, I think it should be made clear that anyone with restricted mobility may struggle because though access is step-free, it's at least 150 metres from the nearest parking space to the apartment itself. The ramp up to the main entrance is quite steep so whilst a powered wheelchair managed fine, a manual chair user may have some difficulty and it was too steep for the elderly lady in the next door apartment to us. Also, though there is plenty of parking available on site, we had to specifically request access and would otherwise have had to park on the road outside the complex, which would add another 50 metres or so to the walking distance.
I was unable to get into the building itself unassisted because I couldn't reach the door lock or open the door once unlocked. There are two lifts, but they are quite small so if your chair is wider than normal, it would be wise to check the dimensions before booking. The apartment is on the second floor, and from the lift it is a long, straight corridor with plenty of width.
The apartment itself is only wheelchair accessible in that you can get in to some of the rooms. My fairly standard size chair went through the doors, but there is simply insufficient manoeuvering room in the kitchen or either of the bathrooms, so if you cannot walk at least a few steps, this apartment is unsuitable.
In greater detail, the kitchen is galley-style and my chair wouldn't go around the corner to actually get in. The lounge layout does provide lots of turning space and I was able to transfer directly from my chair to a dining chair or to the sofa, which is a reasonable height.
I used the main, double, bedroom and was able to get the chair in and close enough to transfer directly to the bed, which is also not too bad for height. The other bedrooms are both twins, and the larger would also possibly have been accessible with a bit of rearrangement or for a child's wheelchair.
There are two bathrooms. Neither are accessible and neither have any hand rails or other aids. In the one nearest the main bedroom, the toilet is just inside the door so only required a couple of steps, and I was able to perch on the side of the bath to use the hand basin, again requiring a couple of steps. There would be insufficient floor space to have a perching stool unless you left the door open and I needed assistance to get on and off the toilet as there's just nothing to hold on to.
The other bathroom has a walk in shower which I was able to use as I'd taken the precaution of borrowing a suitable stool (not something I would ever expect to be provided for hygiene reasons). In this bathroom, the toilet was effectively behind the door so was less accessible, and without the stool I'd borrowed I wouldn't have been able to use the hand basin either.
Finally the balcony - I was able to get out there but, as you would expect, it's a bit tight for turning around and I could only reach the table if two of the chairs were removed.
It was too early in the season for swimming so we didn't explore the grounds of the complex very much and I didn't get around to checking access to the pool.
“Super Holiday Apartment” Stayed here for 10 days in August. Great apartment in a great location. The apartment is fully equipped - everything you need while you are on holiday. Even in August, the complex never felt full - always a place by the pool. 5 minute walk to supermarket and restaurants and Los Alcazares has a family feel to it. The roof top terrace is a real plus point - somewhere to catch the breeze and sun and still be able to nip downstairs for a cold drink. Would definitely recommend and return.
“.................... could only fault the weather !” We have stayed in Los Alcazares before (in fact round the corner in the Pueble Patricia Dev) and can hensetly say that this apartment and complex is miles nicer !
The apt is modern and nicely laid out - the roof terrace is an added bonus for sunbathing and evening alk fresco meals - plus not a bad view.
Unfortuantely we only really had a couple of glorious days in our weeks stay - the other days were either overcast or windy.
Needless to say the weather has nothing to do with the apt !!!!
We had a hire car as were flew into Alicante (rather than San Javier) - only for more availability and better times of flights.
We usually come into San Javier and then you realy don't need a car.
The Mercodona and Bars/Restaurants are literally a ten minute amble away - and the beach about the same (maybe 15 mins depending on what route you take)
If you head towards Ave de La Libertad (and cross it) and go down Calle del Rio Taibilla and then down Calle Palemeras-8 you will end up at the beach and in front of a very nice and friendly bar/car called Jonnys Cafe (great chicken salad wrap!)
Anyway back to the apt - the local agents Henk and Marissa met us on arrival and were available on call if needed.
Alos very nice swimming pool (and big) just a bit cold in early May when the weather hadn't been great !
Al in all a very nice place to stay - and I would recommend this if planning on staying in Los Alcazares ...................
Excellent apartment. Very spacious. Very well equiped with all you need for a self catering holiday. Great location for the square where we ate in a different restaurant every evening and didn't have a bad meal. I would definitely use it again and would recommend to family and friends. …
3 bedroom Townhouse with Private Solarium & Wifi
Home from home .
This this our second stay at the Albertros. First time at the house but won’t be our last. It’s a 10 minute stroll to the strip which is the hub of Los Alcazares. There’s bars and restaurants which cater to everyone’s taste, its also a 10 min stroll to the supermarket and the beach where you will find lovely bars and restaurants. As a family we love it in Los Alcazares. The house itself is very well equipped and the owner answered all our questions very thoroughly and promptly. She couldn’t have been more helpful as was her agent in Spain lex. We are saving up now to go back again. …
Albatros apartment in Los Alcazares - free WIFI
Holiday stay at apartment on the Albatros complex.
We had a very relaxing holiday. The apartment was very well equipped and a real home from home. The bed was comfortable and the shower good, however, I think the single beds could do with new mattresses. We hired a car and for the second week we went to a lovely beach on the Mediterranean in La Horadada, as we got a bit bored of the Mar menor. Thank you for a lovely stay and we thoroughly recommend this apartment. …

Lovely Ground Floor Apartment - Los Alcazares
Well equipped apartment, in a good location.
We stayed here for a week in August, 2 adults and 4 children. The apartment is spacious and was nice and clean on our arrival. The kitchen has everything you need for a self catering holiday, including a full sized oven! The washing machine and drying area were very useful. The complex is in a good location, 10 mins to the beach, and is well maintained. The pool area is busy but not too busy. …
