“Villas de Rosa Stay” Our stay at Villas de Rosa was great. The rooms were kept very clean and walked right from our room on the beach. Rooms/Condos were a good deal for the price. This has been our hotel of choice for many vacations. We are looking forward to returning in June.

“Enchanting” From the moment you enter Balam'Ek you know you are in a special place. The landscaping provides an enchanting setting and surrounds the home with a lush blanket. We have stayed there 3 times in the last 2 years and hope to make another trip late this year. The owners are thoughtful in providing recommendations for anything you might need. This home can easily accommodate 3 couples or a large family. Go for the view, stay for the comfort and convenience of charming akumal!

“A different review” My goal with this review is to provide insight on what our concerns were going in and what reality was. I am an accountant so please forgive how I structure my thoughts. I was traveling with my wife, daughter 9 and son 11, from Houston. Main concern was Security. As far as security goes, I was really worried as my wife was going to hold my personally responsible for everything as this was my idea. She was really nervous. Quotes "no way I'm driving" and "kids, you may never see me so attached to your dad". To sum it up (as I only have 1405 characters left). Out of the 7 days she and my daughter went out by themselves around the area in the car. Really, we did not feel one once of security issues during the visit. We even felt safe enough to drive to Chiez Inez, which was 3 hours inland and 3 back!. We stopped for lunch on the way back in a city call Valdiroid, big city, and really nice place. The house is located in a neighborhood which has plenty of security. Which is really over kill, but nice anyway. Water is no problem as they put the big bottles in the kitchen to use. Plentiful. As far as eating arrangements, we have stayed at many upscale houses in the us and abroad and this has the most amazing kitchen. Huge, great cook ware, plates etc. I like to cook so it was a fun part of the trip. Really good super markets past playa de carma, (big and very nice). No need to stop at the Sam's or other things along the way. The pics you see of the house on line don't do the place justice, they don't capture how big this place is, house and private beach. I guess in summary, don't deny yourself this one, because you may be worried. It is really a great place and you won't find better value. Lastly, absolutely no safety issues at all, so put that out of your mind. As far as the other review items, I've read them all and they are very representive of what I experienced, so I won't repeat. please forgive my spelling.

“3 weeks in Yool Caanal #5” We loved the place for many reasons, but the view was probably the best part. We also really appreciated the thoughtful, professional management and cleaning staff. Finally, the booking agents at Akumal Direct were extremely friendly and helpful. Great, great, great!

“Hate to give a review -this is an unknown gem” Can't beat the location- nice and quiet. The beach in downtown Akumal is better, but there is almost no one on this beach. It has lots of rocks. NO night life/restarurants on the private/gated block of stunning homes. Need a car to go into Akumal for excellent massages from Juan at Buddah gardens. Great for the elderly- not the young party/club type

“Great vacation” Told that Mexicans are kind, helpful and nice people. This is true in general. Mexican drivers, however, are impatient and rude. They rode your bumper, flashed lights, used the blinker to pass, and even sometimes gestured. Driving is not the most pleasant experience. Everything else was great.

“Paradise!!” The location, weather, rental unit, staff were all outstanding. The locale is excellent for snorkeling and there are sufficient numbers of restaurants for evening meals when you decide not to cook in the unit. We would recommend this unit to anyone that is looking for a quiet get-away, far away from the big commercial resorts!!
