House of the Corujinhas, is set in the quaint Fishing Village next to Armação Beach. Casa das Corujinhas is a modern western beach house set in the beautiful fishing village of Armação do Pantano do Sul. The stylish comfort that the house offers you will ensure you have a wonderful vacation on the paradise island of Florianópolis. This unique 3 bedroom / 3 bath roomed house is a great starting point for all of the attractions that "Floripa" has to offer. It is just a short walk (800m) to both local beaches (Armação & Matadeiro), Island Camps, and just a 20 minute gentle stroll along the breathtakingly beautiful Lagoa do Peri Nature Reserve and Lake. Recently built, this comfortable, well furnished home features a hot water solar system (hot water to all faucets) screened windows and doors throughout, a fully-equipped gourmet kitchen with a five burner stove, large refrigerator with plenty of space to prepare and serve , large dining room with an open floor plan to better interact with your guests. The property also boasts the typical Brazilian style barbecue outdoor grill, "barbecue" where one can enjoy cooking over hot coals al fresco. A washing machine is also available for your convenience. An outdoor shower is conveniently located to the rear of the property which is perfect for showering off after a day of surfing or simply lounging on the beach. There is also super high speed wifi internet and a smart TV so you can stream your own Netflix and you tube accounts. Or simply have the speed you need to work a little while while you are on Holiday. We are happy to offer discounted longer stays for working holidays if over three weeks. The master bedroom features sliding doors that open onto a very spacious terrace that faces the lush mountains, the walk-through closet, on-suite bathroom with two sinks, two shower heads and a bath tub. The upstairs bedrooms both have double beds, while the downstairs bedroom has two twin-sized beds. Fresh linen, quilts, good pillows and towels and beach towels are provided. Another fantastic feature that this house offers is a yoga studio / office which is positioned upstairs. Furnished with large sliding doors which open up to the ample terrace one can simply open the doors and extend your yoga work out or just enjoy sipping the caipirinha as the sun goes down behind the mountain. There are some amazing sunsets. The house is very clean, relaxed, quiet (apart from bird song) and managed by your hosts. It has Wi-fi internet connection and a bookshelf both English and Portuguese books to dip into during your stay. Matadeiro beach can only be reached on foot by taking a path near to the house. There is no access for cars on the beach and there are no cars to worry about on the beach. Matadero is famous for its fresh fish restaurants, surf and relaxed atmosphere. The beach is set against the backdrop of Mata Atlantica under tropical rain forests and mountains. At the end of the beach you can take the trail to the secluded Lagoon of the East beach and lagoon. Armação Beach and the small fishing town of Armação offer restaurants, bars (live music), supermarkets, fish shop, a cafe, an ice cream parlor, a gift shop, a fresh fruit and vegetable market with natural food stall and cheese stall, and a pharmacy and health center. There are regular bus services connecting you to the whole of the island. The poly clinic hospital in Rio Tavares is approximately 20 minutes by car. Your hosts are Alison (British) and Alvaro (Uruguayan / Brazilian.) So if you ever need any advice or tips on where to go and what to do we can normally oblige. Spanish, English and Portuguese are spoken. During your stay, we recommend that you take advantage of some of the activities on offer on Matadero Beach such as surfing lessons, hiking / kayaking, body boarding, and paragliding. - Or simply relax, put your feet up while swinging in the breeze in the hammock. :) You never know you could get to see the family of owls that live in front of the house and often make appearances. * The house is on a quiet street, but please note, that during some holidays and weekends, the neighbors may be celebrating the holidays and may be noisy at night. Typically during carnival and new years eve celebrations. * The garage is not included in the rental of this property. But parking in front of it can be arranged. If Eloisa (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
