The Valenciana region

Middle of Vinalopó and only 20km from Alicante City, Monforte del Cid offers its visitors the chance to enjoy nature in one of the most traditional pilgrims' spots on the Costa Blanca, the hermitage of Saint Pascual Bailón. Different alternatives to rural, residential and golf tourism are emerging vigorously around it. The population of Montforte del Cid is about 5,500 inhabitants. Its situation helps to create an excellent micro climate in order to grow dessert grapes and rural tourism in the future.

In its district there are the remains of ancient civilizations, standing out the Iberian Bull displayed in the museum together with other objects and remains of a big Roman. The medieval old part of the city stands out. It is formed by an ancient Moslem quarter (14th Century), and the Christian area. Both areas have on their facades the tradition of Manises school's religious tile industry, with pieces from 17th to 20th century. The Gothic parish church (15th century), where was christened the famous and wise mathematician born in Monforte Jorge Juan y Santacilia who was a member of the London Royal Society (1713-1773). The popular country house in Orito (an historic-ecological and tourism group). Orito Virgin and Saint Pascual bath-houses inn-hotel and mineral medicinal spring water.

Finally, the Nature Reserve, Sierra Eagles, at the foot of which invites you to make camp, to walk, to ride. It has a good motorway communications to the airport, railway and seaport. It has also a traditional industry, the distillation of aniseed liqueur. Besides the residential areas of Alenda Golf, Orito and the Old Part of the City, there are plenty of festivals of which Moors and Christian festivals stand out.

Busot offers its visitor the Caves of Canelobre, situated a distance of 24 kms from the city of Alicante and 40 kms from Benidorm, at a height of 700 meters on the northern side of Cabeço d'Or. The interior of the caves boasts one of the highest vaults in Spain, which looks very similar to a cathedral's. During your visit you can admire the varied and whimsical forms that the rocks have created: candelabra, animals and many other spectacular shapes. On certain occasions the unsurpassed acoustic and atmospheric conditions of the caves are used to provide musical entertainment. Busot also offers its visitors hiking routes to enjoy the natural and unique views over the whole region. And what better to get your strength back than to visit the local cafes and restaurants of Busot offering an exquisite range of cuisine.

Algar Falls & Pola Park

http://www.polapark.com

It would be difficult to find waterfalls in a beauty spot as un spoilt as this unless they were in some specially protected area. This being the case, it was decided to carry out an extensive program for the preservation of the unique natural setting of the Algar Falls. With a view to reversing damage already done and to guaranteeing the rehabilitation and conservation of the area, all installation work and services are carried out fully respecting the environment. The Algar is a kind of natural water park with authentic swimming pools in which to enjoy the crystal clear waters.

There are also several other attractions that have set up near the Algar Waterfalls like the Railway Museum and the Algar Cactus co. Pola Park is an affluently prepared amusement facilities of 24,000 square meters, with landscaped walks, illuminated and paved streets, where there is something for all, large and small. We have more than 20 attractions; the inflatable castles, the American track of three floors, the familiar cars of stroll, the lake of bumping boats, jumping, the laser labyrinth, the pit of the terror, a great hall of recreational games, orbiters, dodgem cars, quads, the panoramic tower 60 meters tall, mini golf located in a tropical garden plus many more.

"Lovely villa, just wrong location!"

This villa is beautiful, there is no question of that. The kitchen is well equipped and rooms are actually bigger than they look in the pictures. Beds are comfortable, which I was thankful of as I hav… More

"Beautiful villa, fabulous holiday!"

This a beautiful villa, it has recently been refurbished to a high standard and comfortably accomodated 10 of us; 5 adults and 5 children (2 of which were teenagers). Karen the property manager I have to say went out of her way to offer a great service, way above expectation. We didn't hire a car and although we managed (with lots of help from Karen, chauffeuring us about, delivering bikes, supermarket runs and more) you do really need one - its a long long walk to the shop! Our only disappointment was no wiifii for the teenagers but hey it did them good.
We had a fabulous holiday and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the villa or Karen Grundeken, the property manager.

"Very relaxing"

This was the first time we had booked via this site and i was pleasently surprised at how easy it was. This was helped in dealing with Karen who made the whole process easy. When we arrived karen met us at the airport and took us to the house, speant time showing us around and made us feel welcome. She gave us directions to the nearest supermarkets and explained what we could do locally. The house was a good size and the kids, all 5 of them, enjoyed the pool and the good size rooms. The decor was good, but could do with a little tidying up but nothing to complain about. From the kids point of view a larger TV so they could watch their DVD's would have helped, but again it did not stop them. We would recommend making the house a little more homely and having a 'to do' folder for guests. But this would be being a little picky.

A short trip into Alicante will keep you supplied with all that you need and for those who like to shop or eat out there is a lot to do. The beachs are nice especially if you try the ones just outside Alicante as they tend to be less busy.

We can't thank Karen enough for her support. When we called about a faulty fridge on the first day, she was on the case straight away and had someone around the next day to fix it. She also helped find the daughter's iPod when it was left behind and made sure it was sent back to us after the holiday.

Overall a very nice place to stay and certainly large enough for the eight of us. The whole family enjoyed the experience and had a great 2 weeks

thanks for the positive feed back. The owner has now fully refurbished this villa with new furniture throughout to make it more comfortable and relaxing for you to enjoy a fabulous holiday. I also endevour to make the holiday process as easy as possible for all visitors.
