About the home

Beautiful, spacious penthouse for rent with breathtaking sea views over the Peninsula of La Manga between the Mediterranean Sea and Mar Menor close to the prestigious Tomas Maestre Harbour. Sandy, several miles long beach is just next to the building from the pool area on the Mediterranean shore, while there are also several smaller beaches on the Mar Menor side within walking distance.

The climate of the area is one of the healthiest in the world with approximately 300 sunny days. Perfect place for sun and water sport lovers. There are two communal swimming pools in the private area. Ideal for small children as the water of the Mar Menor beaches are very shallow.

Car recommended though there is regular bus service and also a tourist road train along the Peninsula throughout the year. Bars, restaurants, supermarkets, banks, chemist within easy reach within two miles in Darcena Cero commercial centre next to Tomas Maestre harbour. Beach bars, supermarket, restaurant within walking distance.

This attractive apartment has two bedrooms for 5 (2 bedroom+sofa-bed) persons, both with built-in wardrobes, the master of which has a double bed and the second bedroom is furnished with single beds. There are two bathrooms one with full size bath/shower, bidet, WC and basin, the other with shower cabin, WC and basin.

The kitchen is fully equipped with hob, oven, washing machine, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and dishwasher. The spacious lounge is furnished with sofas (relax) and has a separate dining area.
The apartment is hot and cold air-conditioned. Sat TV (English and Spanish channels), DVD and CD player, wi-fi internet access is installed.
There are two sizable balconies one opening from the living room and the other from the sleeping rooms. There is lift in the house directly from the garage and the main entrance.

The property is suitable for early spring and late autumn stay being equipped with cold and hot air-conditioning units and electric heaters.
Upon request cot is available for your little one.

The building is located directly beside the Mediterranean Sea with access to the beach through the pool area. There are two communal swimming pools (one for adults and one for children).
Playa Chica of Mar Menor is just across the street within 50 meter distance. The beach time is even more enjoyable sitting in the beach bar.
Private parking space with lift directly to the penthouse.

Whilst we will allow smokers we would kindly ask not to smoke in the property itself except on the balconies in order to keep the appearance clean and healthy for future visitors.

The Costa Calida region

La Manga is situated approximately 80 miles South of Alicante on the Costa Calida. This unique peninsula stretching into the sea divides the Mediterranean Sea from the natural lagoon known as The Mar Menor .
The Mar Menor is the largest natural lagoon in Europe and is relatively shallow, rich in salts and iodine noted for its therapeutic properties. . The climate is very hospitable with 300 sunny days annually.

The two seas, soft breezes, sunny days and significant sporting facilities makes La Manga a water sports paradise: sailing, diving, water skiing, kite surfing, windsurfing, jet skiing and most other nautical sports are available.
To make your stay even more enjoyable you might spend your time in the 5 star Abity Spa Hotel which is 2 minutes drive away from the complex offering Spa, sauna, fitness centre/gym, Turkish bath, massage, whirpool, hairdesser/beauty salon.

The historic cities of Cartagena (30 mins away) and Murcia (60 mins drive) are well worth visiting for sightseeing and shopping. Cartagena is full of historic architecture, has many museums, and a historic marina with tourist trips around the Port.

Inland from the strip is the world renowned La Manga Golf Club which is home to a 5 star hotel , casino , bars and restaurants alongside three championship golf courses . It also boasts a top Football Coaching Academy and is used for training purposes by many of the worlds best Football teams , including the England squad .

La Manga strip is ideal for a beach holiday and water sports. Many of the local beaches on the Mar Menor coast are well known for the therapeutic clay which can be found by wading out in the water full of minerals and salts. There are boat and ferry trips available from the local marina including to the town of Santiago de las Ribiera a lovely place with water front cafes and a local market on a Thursday. You might charter or hire your own boat in the Thomas Maestre Harbour.

There are numerous hotels , bars , cafes , restaurants, supermarkets, banks and beaches along both coastlines , there are two harbours and many sailing schools. A wide variety of cuisine is available including Spanish tapas bars and restaurants, English , French , Mexican , Asian ones. The food is excellent and it is lovely to sit out on a warm evening and watch the sun go down over the mountains across the water .

La Manga Strip is easily reached from both Alicante (ALC) and Murcia (MJV) airports on A-P7 motorway. The nearest airport is San Javier, Murcia - which is only 20 mins drive away.
There are frequent low cost flights to both Alicante and Murcia airports from most UK destinations.
