Make JABLONEC NAD NISOU your base to visit PRAGUE again and other beautiful surrounding regions, BOHEMIAN PARADISE (Cesky Raj) Geopark, JIZERA and GIANT MOUNTAINS (Jizerky & Krkonose), mountain observation tower restaurants, fairy tale castles.

You can be in the centre of Prague within 2 hours door-to-door.

Express coaches leave for Prague every hour from the Jablonec Bus Station, which is only a 15 mins walk away. The bus journey takes 1 hr 10 mins to Cerny Most Metro (Black Bridge Underground station). They also run frequently from Cerny Most Metro to Jablonec into the evening. You will then reach the Prague Centre in about 15 mins by the underground. The coach tickets are cheap, approximate 5 Gbp each way.

BY CAR - you can leave your hire car in the Cerny Most Park-and-Ride all day car park and explore Prague by public transport which is cheaply priced. The drive will take around one hour from the Pink Street house to the Cerny Most Car Park on a good E-Motorway.

SKIING - JIZERA MOUNTAINS / JIZERKY - a local train goes twice an hour from a Railway Stop, 5 mins from Pink Street House, directly to the TANVALDSKY SPICAK (Tanvald Pointed Hill) skiing resort, and back again - for more advanced skiers. The train tickets are cheap, around 1 Gbp per person, the journey takes 30 minutes. All resorts have a Skiing School in English or German if required, and skiing equipment hire shops.

Other skiing resorts, 20 mins by a local bus, in the JIZERA MOUNTAINS are: BEDRICHOV (Henry's Place), HRABETICE-SEVERAK (Northern Hill). Ideal for beginners and if you want to learn to ski, there is a skiing school. But it needs to be booked in advance of your holiday. Information will be provided to you,

On the Polish border, less than an hour by coach, is HARRACHOV, a sophisticated skiing resort, in the GIANT MOUNTAINS / KRKONOSE for the more advanced skiers.

The town of JABLONEC NAD NISOU (on the river NISA) lies in the NORTH BOHEMIA, some 110 kms north of Prague.

THE CLIMATE: Cold winters with snow and frost, ideal for skiing from Christmas to March. Followed by dramatic and wonderful springs, in March and early April the snow melts. May tends to be a lovely month in North Bohemia, followed by usually warm or hot summers from June to mid-September. Colourful spectacular autumns, often with showers, are followed by cold, winter spells and showers in November. Snow usually starts in earnest from December and stays for good till February or March.

"We just keep coming back to this great place!"

This was our 4th stay at the Pink Street house. The first two times we stayed in the upstairs appartment, and the last two times we stayed in the newly renovated downstairs garden-view appartment. Both are great. I enjoy the full kitchen set up so I can cook, and absolutely love the garden for sitting outside amidst the flowers. Very practical is also the small train station very close to the appartment. You can take a train to many of the lovely towns surrounding Jablonec. The appartment was always spotless when we arrived and there is no hassle. Last year, wifi was installed, which makes it even easier to find the interesting things to do in the area. A great place to relax, see the sights and visit all the glass and beads shops and factories.

"A home away from home. Great facilities, wonderful garden."

After staying here for a a short few days in 2011, when we wanted to visit Jablonec again in 2011, we did not hesitate. The Pink Street House was to be once again going to be our home away from home. A lovely studio with all the facilities you could need, even for a longer stay. A great garden with a pear tree, shaded seating, lots of flowers and butterflies which is a great way to relax. Another one of the great benefits of this place, is the very friendly owner, who was very helpful in answering all our questions about the area.

Jablonec Nad Nisou is the heart of the Bohemian glass, bead and jewelry industry. Walking through town, and visiting the surrounding area is like travelling through a jewel box.

"Wonderful location and great accommodation for a couple."

The house was in a great location for mountain walks and exploring. The local buses and trains were brilliant, easy to travel anywhere and very reasonably priced. The house was very cosy and in a nice location. There was plenty to do with a bit of planning and an active imagination of seeking things out. Would recommend the house to anyone wanting an adventure holiday or a relaxing sightseeing break. The house owner is very accommodating with offering information and answering any questions. I can't recommend this house highly enough for a visit and think it is a lovely way to see this pretty part of the country.

"nice flat close to the mountains"

This is small flat in Jablonec. The flat is well appointed; a bedroom, a living room with a small kitchen and a private bathroom in the mezzanine.
Jablonec is not the prettiest town in the Czech Republic, but the mountains around are very nice. Very close to the flat there's a train station with connections to Liberec and to the mountains.
The owners are very attentive and reply quickly to questions/queries.
