The Boschenmeer Golf and Country Estate with its David Frost signature golf course, offers superb golfing. It is the only 27-hole golf course in the Western Province, and the first David Frost signature golf course in South Africa. The backdrop to your back-swing is astride the majestic Paarl/Franschhoek Drakenstein mountain range and Paarl Rock. Add mature trees, artfully conceived water features, and the famous Berg River and you've got the kind of layout that challenges the pro, rewards the amateur and inspires residents out for a stroll in their 140 hectare back yard. Designer David Frost has created a golf course of true championship standard and at the same time he has achieved a first class golfing experience that will both challenge the low handicap and scratch golfer, yet not be too daunting for the less experienced 'weekender'. Boschenmeer also offers a high-tech golf academy and driving range, as well as a state-of-the-art club house.
The house also has access to residents floodlit tennis courts, children's play area and a large swimming pool shared by the estate for those glorious summers days.
Boschenmeer nestles in the gastronomic capital of South Africa with numerous vineyards and stunning Cape Dutch colonial style restaurants serving wonderful steaks, fish and local produce only minutes away. Paarl Golf Club has it's own restaurant serving excellent and reasonably priced european style food.

The Western Cape region

The Western Cape of South Africa is acknowledged as one of the most beautiful locations in the world. The scenery is magnificent, dominated by mountain views and endless vineyards. The Mediterranean climate is very similar to southern Spain with very long hot summers (September to May) and short temperate winters (perfect golfing weather). The region is famous for its magnificent and unique Fynbos flora and fauna Kingdom and its diverse wildlife - you can watch whales, seals and penguins in their natural environment as well as spotting the occasional wild ostrich and baboons as you drive through the countryside.
Boschenmeer is just 30 minutes from the Mother City. Cape Town is dominated by Table Mountain, enjoy the spectacular views of the 2 oceans and the city laid out below you. Cape Town is a modern, thriving, cosmopolitan city that’s exciting to visit, with a normal range of museums, shopping malls and other visitor attractions. The Victoria and Alfred Waterfront is the most varied, exclusive and interesting selection of exclusive shops in Africa. Just about everyone spends some time at the newly developed Waterfront, where there are more restaurants than you would ever have time to sample, with food from just about every corner of the world. There are numerous boating excursions leaving from the Waterfront including a ferry to the prison on Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned during the apartheid era. The Victor Verster Prison near Paarl, where he was released from in 1990, is only minutes away from Boschenmeer.
The Cape Winelands is South Africa's wine growing region and there are scores of vineyards within minutes of Boschenmeer in Paarl, Wellington, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. Franschhoek, a tourist honeypot, offers high class French style dining and winetasting oportunities and Boschenmeer is situated only a short 15 minute drive away on the Franschhoek/Wellington R301 road. Stellenbosch, a famous University town, is only 20 minutes away with it's 'town & gown' leafy garden suburbs. It has excellent tourist shopping, bars, restaurants, winetasting on vineyards and student nightlife opportunities.
The Cape Town / Boschenmeer Paarl area
Boschenmeer lies in the heart of the Boland wine country surrounded by majestic mountains, rolling vineyards, wine estates, and is the only 27 hole golf course in the Western Cape. Boschenmeer Golf Estate offers some of the most spectacular scenary that any golf course can offer. The course is beautifully designed and laid out along the Berg river, giving the golfer the contrast between river, lakes and mountains, whilst also offering challenging golf.

We arrived in Paarl in early November 2011 and the house was everyhing you wanted and hoped for. The views overlooking the golfcourse and subsequent sun sets were a site to behold. We felt safe with the friendly people around the complex. The were always smiling and made us so welcome. Wth great places to eat, with Bossa Nova in Paarl a particular favourite of ours. We visted Robben Island and Table Mountain and the bus tour aroun Cape Town is A must do. Por hose has beutiful views, and is quiet and we are already making plans to visit this fantastic place again in the future. The views aroun are spectacular, and although we had 2 weeks there there is still so much more we would like to see. we cannot fault to accommodation in any way and would recommend to anyone that this really is fantastic value for money. Thanks must go toeveryone who made this trip a holiday of a lifetime. Response: We're delighted you were impressed with our beautiful Boschenmeer home. You say you want to stay for longer next year and we look forward seeing you again. |

I agree the comments made by the reviewers below. We stayed for 3 weeks with a 3 and 5 year old and the plunge pool was fine for them. I've been trying to book the villa on subsequents trips. There's plenty to do in the area for 3 weeks and the proximity to motorway means that Cape Town, Constantia and the airport are quite quick to get to. You can view the sunset from the back patio/pool area so its a great place to end the day. The accomodation was very nicely furnished, spacious and well equiped. Response: We look forward to meeting your young family next year when we are all back at beautiful Boschenmeer for Christmas. |

I would agree with the comments of the subsequent reviewer and have recommended this house to other friends . Response: Our new house manager will meet and greet you at the Boschenmeer security gate on your next arrival in March. A welcome pack and some electricity units will be on the meter for your arrival. Enjoy! |
