“We fell in love with ashland, and we think artYcottage is one of” We stayed at artYcottage for a week, and even as we left, we were marveling about whimsical and creative details that we were just discovering. It was a week of saying "wow -- look at that" and pointing out the hand hammered window valence, or the decorative banister on the stairs, or the patterns on the handmade quilts, or the color combinations of the felted coasters (hand knit and hand felted), or the arrangement of the tile on a back-splash, or the weaving on the screen that separates the main living area from a reading nook, or the comfort of the wooden seats of the bar stools, or the buttery finish on the rocking chair that has all the right angles so that you are perfectly comfortable when you sit in it, or the perfection of the grain on the cabinets. The outside space is also inviting (better wifi coverage out there, too) with hanging baskets of petunias, a rich grove of trees and a sheltered view of the mountains. No tv, but plenty of sound effects from deer, foxes, owls. We also really enjoyed Margaret and Tom, the owners. They were available to answer questions like the best route to Crater Lake, or what a good local winery was. And they were also delightful people. I am so grateful that they have created this masterpiece and are willing to share it. We can't wait to return.

“Beautiful and relaxing!” The house looked just as beautiful as it did online. We stayed here for a ladies weekend away. It had everything we needed. We cooked together in the kitchen and watched a movie in the living room. The hot tub was great. Just make sure you look at the controls before it gets dark, or bring a flashlight. The neighborhood was nice and well cared for and we enjoyed a walk on the beach, which was easy to get to. It was a very relaxing time. We would definetly stay here again.

“Perfection” My week at "Windows on the Sea" could not have been more perfect. The condo was beautiful and comfortable, and the view was stunning. I was only steps from an amazing beach, and I had a front-row seat from which to watch some wonderful and powerful storms roll through. Spectacular view is right! I went to Rockaway with the intention of working; upon arriving, I rejected that notion. The space was so comfortable and private that I decided to retreat and reflect. I am better for having done so. I felt like I was at home--I had all of the amenities that I love and appreciate in my own home. Denise has added so many tasteful touches that all I needed were my own clothes and some groceries. The kitchen was organized and well-stocked (spices, condiments, tea and coffee; top-notch pots & pans, dishes & cutlery, and utensils; etc.). The bathrooms were spacious and clean. The bedrooms were quiet, and the king-size bed in the second bedroom was a treat. I much preferred this to staying in a hotel, or staying with friends and/or family. For the week that I was at "Windows" I was truly in a space that felt like mine. And now ... a word from my dog. Dog-friendly! Fun dog bowls, soft dog towels, and a great view of the birds on the beach! Dog-appropriate! Big waves, sea foam, smelly things on the beach--way better than the dog park. Woof! I really can't say enough, and I am already planning for my next visit. "Windows on the Sea" is beyond fabulous! Thank you, Denise, for sharing your little piece of paradise." “Family beach trip” After over a year of social distancing and self-isolation our family decided to take a much needed break at the beach. Our criteria was a little daunting, 3 bedrooms, some ocean view, pet-friendly a decent kitchen and a hot tub. This place was that and more. There was plenty of space and activities including a great fire pit foosball, air hockey, barbecue and pool table. The yard was great for our dogs to run and play without worry of escape on our part. The house is quirky and dated but very clean and well supplied. The ocean view is good, a little distant but we were able to see and hear the waves which was great. The walk to the beach took about 15 minutes and we would recommend shoes not flip flops but the beach is great once you get there. The location feels very private but you are very close to a wide variety of amenities. Steve was very quick in responding to questions before and during our stay and when we couldn't find foosballs he was kind enough to bring some by (however for future renters, tilt the table towards the window and you may find some!) We would stay there again for sure.

“Better Than Expected!!” Upon arrival we did what everyone does, we peek in all the cupboards and closets to see what cookware/linens are available to us during our stay and to our pleasant surprise the owner had thought of everything :) From children’s booster high chairs to extra beds and even a stroller! There were children’s games and toys, 3 crockpots and plenty of pots and pans. The garage was a full game room that really made our littles happy :) It’s spacious and surprisingly sound proof! We had 4 kids running around like crazies and really didn’t hear much. The outdoor fire place, hot tub and play structure was also just what we needed for our Covid escape week :) They have an on demand hot water heater which was awesome when the 8 of us needed showers :). The only real issues we had with the property was the lack of locking doors (some have locks, but the doors still just open). When you can share a home with up to 20 people privacy is pretty important And the knives were all dull lol. I know, a silly thing to add to a review, but preparing meals with dull knives is harder than you’d think! Over all we had a spectacular time, the owner is so kind and helpful! 10/10 would recommend! We will absolutely be back again soon!
