“the perfect holiday” This was a perfect holiday. In February 2014 we, 3 adult women friends, were lucky enough to discover Villa Sekala in beautiful Sanur. From the first moment that we entered the villa and then on subsequent daily returns, it was our palace in Bali. This was my 3rd trip to Bali and this is now the place to which I will always return. Lovingly maintained by the indefatigable Komang and her husband as well as an assistant, our needs and desires were catered to with seemingly little effort. The daily breakfasts were a healthy and hearty way to start the day and on request Komang also prepared a wonderful evening meal. She and her husband also called Komang, son Sam and dog Bobby, would join us occasionally for a conversation which was always informative and delightful. Apart from the beauty of the villa and the comforts it provided it also offered a great way to learn about the Balinese way of life from Komang and her family. The villa is a short walk to beaches and shops, and it is easy to catch taxis to anywhere. For our day trips or half day trips Komang organised a driver. Everything seemed so easy - this was indeed the perfect holiday!

“Amazing Villa in convenient location” Was 'blown away' as soon as we stepped through the door. The website photos do not do enough justice to this villa. It is spacious and beautifully kept by the lovely Ayu and Nyoman. I stayed here with my three teenage daughters, who loved the spaciousness and privacy of the villa. (Not one fight for two weeks) Being all girls, we felt safe, secure and felt like royalty for the two weeks we stayed here. Looooved the outdoor showers. Everything that we could possibly want for was provided by the thoughtful owners. We were give a fridge full of breaky provisions, bintangs and also a lovely selection of fruits. We were also provided with bikes which were perfect to ride to the many local restaurants and to the beach. ( Beach is only a five minute walk away). We also were given massage vouchers (one each) to the owners spa salon (Peni Weni). This was just around the corner from the villa and the massages were amazingly good. We went there for lots of other treatments too (got hooked). I would recommend this villa to absolutely anyone. Have already booked our next years holiday here. Can't wait to see the lovely Nyoman's happy smiling face waiting to pick us up at the airport.

“Villa G accessible - Accessible accommodation” Well set up Villa arrangement with a number of rooms available that wrap around a central courtyard pool. You can just hire a room as we did, or the whole Villa complex - villas are reasonably large villas. It's located at the end of long lane that starts at the busy main road through Sanur - it's very quiet. Positives If using a wheelchair, as I did, the rooms & courtyard work very well. The bathroom would be great for anybody. While this property is designed using universal design principles (accessible too all), it does this seamlessly - its Bali villa aesthetic is maintained & its mainstream accommodation. It's not the cheapest accommodation in Sanur but it's probably reasonably priced - it's certainly not expensive! Sanur Beach has a good path than runs for kilometres which is a bike come wheelchair friendly path - spare the heat. Cafes & restaurants abound. The young girls that maintain the property - nice, helpful, very tranquil Villa G can arrange a wheelchair accessible van, with rear entry lift, all modern safety belts & clamping, & a great driver. Negatives? Access from the Villa to that path along Sanur Beach. There seemed to be no wheelchair accessible short-cut diagonally across two or more blocks to the beach. This meant a 30-45 minute push in the heat to get to the beach, over tough paths, streets, traffic. Unless you get a car & that has its own complexities accessing the beach is a mission. I emailed the owners after my visit to determine a short-cut - no response - disappointed. A shortcut needs to be scouted out & made known at the Villa. For walkers, they can cut through in 5-10 minutes. I tried cutting through hotels with some success but I only because I told them I was eating there, otherwise, they are quite miserable about this courtesy. Very non-Balinese attitude I thought. Other negs? The usual dodgy paths, gutters, curb-cuts, bikes & cars on pathways - no worse than elsewhere in Bali.
