“After 5 yrs of renting July 4th week , still a great get away!!!” We have rented this floating condo for the last 5 yrs. It used to be in alantic Beach, sold and we followed it. The view is unbelieveable on your pergola front deck overlooking the ICW!!! Yachts, barges, sailboats etc. Quaint little fishing pier loaded with locals enjoying a day of fishing. “Great Vacation Home” MaMaHooHoo was a fantastic rental house. Everything was as advertised. The views from the house were amazing. The house was very clean and neat. The footwashes were very helpful in keeping the house clean and very convenient. The outside shower was great as well. I would definitely recommend this house to others. The owner was very easy to work with and answered all questions in a timely manner. I have stayed in many houses on Hatteras Island and this one is right at the top of the list. The 4x4 beach driving access is only two minutes away or you can walk to the beach across the street where no vehicles are allowed. Best of both worlds. The village of Hatteras is only a short drive away with good dining options. The Frisco Sandwich Co. is only two minutes away and is the best place on the island for Lunch.

“Sunnybank Exceeds Expectations!!!” We took the whole family (11 of us)to Sunnybank for a week in July. The house is magnificent - a delight in its amenities as well as its location. The layout provides for privacy for family members as well as large rooms for the whole family to enjoy. We especially enjoyed cooking in the well-appointed kitchen. The beach is great for swimmers and shellseekers alike. We also went kayaking and hang gliding.

“Peaceful gateway” We stayed for an extended weekend and had the most amazing time. Everything was provided for us to feel right at home. “What A View” Clean and great rates! Thoroughly enjoyed the private deck and the views. Loved the fact that the master bedroom had sliding glass doors opening to this deck. What a wonderful way to sleep every night to the sound of the glorious ocean! Loved the island ~ wonderful restaurants and awesome crab legs! Be sure to bring essentials such as toilet paper, paper towels, clothes soap, body soap, linens and towels.

“Relaxing vacation” Comfortable vacation spot tucked away in a quiet area, right on the beach. Can't get better than that! The 3 of us had plenty of room, the place was clean, and Coral Surf has its own private beach access. When we wanted a little break from the beach we walked to the "lake" and to a local ice cream shop. Very nice place all in all, especially great for small families with kids.

“Awesome Creekside Waterfall Cabin” This was a wonderful cabin by a waterfall & creek. So quiet, relaxing & scenic! We loved the cabin & the small town of Brevard. Pisgah National Forest had so many things to do & we loved Sliding Rock & The Cradle of Forestry there. This was the perfect getaway. The kids (14 & 9), loved looking for crawfish & salamanders in the creek. Asheville is only 45 mins away. We did Miller's Waterfall tour which was fantastic! We were sad to leave the cabin & area behind. Do not miss out on the white squirrels which can be found on the grounds of the local college. We hope to go back some day.

“Time to relax” I love coming to THF! This is one place I know I can relax and just get away from the daily grind. The setting is perfect and the house is beautiful, warm and inviting. The price is steep, but the stay is worth a million! We have stayed at the Waterfall Cabin as well, and if you only have 2-4 people, this would be my first pick. If you have 6, you will want to chose the Streamside Home! Jim is very good at knowing some activities to do for the family and he is good at making suggestions for touring the local waterfalls! My husband and I came twice before and stayed at the Waterfall Cabin and loved it so much that we brought our family and stayed at the Streamside Home. Our children loved their stay! We have already refered friends to THF and they loved it as well! We will continue to make THF part of our "happy place" we go to when we are stressed and visit there to make our "happy place" a reality!

“Will definitely be returning back to Kelly's Beach Retreat” Once again, my family and I had a wonderful visit to the Outer Banks at KBR. The owner is very easy to work with and knowledgeable on fun family activities and restaurants throughout the area. The house is the perfect size for multiple families and grandparents to spend a relaxing week close to the beach. The short walk to the ocean is accessible for our young children as well as grandparents. Also, the kitchen is fully equipped to cook large family meals at the house in order to avoid eating out every meal. The house is surrounded by large decks with ocean views that we enjoyed throughout the week while reading and sunning. This home's low key, cottage feel is the perfect place to stay at the Outer Banks for single or multiple families.

“Perfect Get away” This place was like finding treasure. It was not too far up the beach (2.5miles or so), It was easy to find and many ways to get to. The view was wonderful. Literally there would be wild mustangs out every morning. It was a beautiful sight. The cottage itself was clean and roomy. It is perfect for a small family or a couple. It is about a 3 min walk to the beach itself. Charlie (my dog) absolutely loved the deck. He would not budge even when it was time to eat. Just remember that you will need a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get here. We had a Nissan armada so it did the trick. I honestly had no complaints about the place. The only con's were -The water over there is not really drinkable. The cottage provides fresh drinking water though. The running water also has a faint smell and a yellowish tint. That is typical though for beach, well water. -Mosquito's were horrible the last day there. It had been nice and breezy for the first 3 days and on the 4th day there was no breeze at all. So the mosquito's just appeared 100's at a time. I would just request some sort of mosquito trap out on the deck. Don't forget your "off” bug spray. Other than that it was everything I had expected it to be for a great vacation spot. Couple of reminders - Buy what you have to (food, drinks, beer) before arriving. - Be cautious when driving on sand. - Deflate your tires on your vehicle to 20psi. Overall my experience here was great and my boyfriend and I have recommend this place to our family/friends. I would not be surprised if we plan another visit here next summer. “We will be back!” We so enjoyed our stay at this lakefront cabin for the last two weeks of May, and were grateful we were able to bring our fur-kid, Daisy. She enjoyed swimming, fetching, and dock diving in the lake almost as much as we enjoyed watching her! So quiet and peaceful here, with a beautiful view of the lake from the front wall of windows. Comfy furniture, well-equipped kitchen, nice large deck, easy access to town - it was all we wanted and needed for our vacation. The weather was perfect for most of our stay, which we spent out on the deck or down by the water with friends we were visiting (they live in Murphy), and we were amazed so few people were out enjoying it on a long holiday weekend - we had the lake to ourselves much of the time! Phyllis and Pete were great hosts, and made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay perfect. We will definitely stay here again during our next trip to Murphy.
