“Great splurge for family get together” My wife and I rented this home for 10 days over Christmas 2008 as splurge for our family. We chose Louisville as it was a central gathering point for my two sons (along with wives and 5 grandchildren) and us. It was a truly beautiful home--great details like massive crown moldings and high ceilings, wood floors, many fireplaces. The owners had decked the home for the holidays- with a large cut tree & wreaths. They also left us basics like coffee, milk, eggs and fruit. The home was perfect for us- each couple had a large king bedroom with private bath, the kids shared the three remaining bedrooms. I wanted the luxury suite on the third floor, but my wife has a knee issue, so we ended up in the first floor master and my son and his wife took the suite. The kids were crazy about all the tv gaming equipment and the dvds. It was great to have the big family room on the second floor for the kids while the adults spent time together in the first floor living room areas with the tree lit and the fireplace on. The dining room was perfect for Christmas dinner (although we did have to bring in extra chairs from the kitchen and squeeze a bit). The kitchen is amazing-- huge, with a big table, every appliance you can think of and plenty of dishes, glassware, pots/pans. The one suggestion I would make for the kitchen is to write out directions for how to use the appliances--We had no idea how to operate the built in pasta sink and it took us quite awhile to figure out the Advantium. The neighborhood is full of big Victorian houses and trees. It was too cold to spend much time in the park, but we did walk the younger kids there several times to burn off energy. We loved Jack Fry's and went three times (restaurant 2 minute walk from house). My daughter in law lived at the Starbucks- a block away. Downtown is about a mile away with many other things to do (we particularly enjoyed making "blow your own" glass ornaments at the GlassWorks and seeing "A Christmas Carol"

“Comfortable and Tidy” Location is more on the suburban but just a few short miles from downtown fun. About 20 minutes away from the horse park but in a great location for food and activities. Our stay was comfortable and included all that we needed for our stay. We would be happy to stay here again in the future.
