“Warmth of our host only matched by the breathtaking surroundings” This was an absolutely stunning trip. Our only regret was that we didn't have time to stay for longer (we stayed for a day and a night but it could easily have been 2-3 nights). Our host, Saleh, a Bedouin who has lived in Wadi Rum his whole life, truly lived up to the Bedouin reputation for hospitality. From the moment we arrived, sitting and chatting over some tea (which we couldn't get enough of!), he welcomed us into his lovely family. We then set off into the desert, a place of such epic vastness, drama and traquility rolled into one, that for a lot of the time we were simply left speechless, contemplating the environment around us. Our programme was very flexible, and depending on whether you want to go for more active pursuits (sandboarding, rock scrambling, camel riding), the sight-seeing and walking, or simply enjoying tea in the beautiful surrounds, Saleh can tailor the day around what you want to do. The real highlight for us was staying the night out at Saleh's camp in the middle of the desert, nestled in next to a huge rock cliff, with an amazing view across the desert and of the sunset. Sitting around the fire enjoying a delicious cooked meal, chatting about the day, and then sleeping under the stars (although you can also sleep in one of the tents if you like), was a wholly refreshing and revitalising experience. We were truly sad to leave this incredible place and to have to say goodbye to Saleh. We have vowed to return, but next time with a large group of friends. We couldn't recommend this enough.
