“Beauty at its best!” Another wonderful stay at the Casita...the birds...the river...the flowers and a comfortable stay...there is not much more a person needs. Patty has put her heart and soul into making it where anyone who stays there...will walk away very happy and will want to come back ...just as I did!
“Honeymoon” Visited Durango for our honeymoon, and had a blast. It was late in the ski season, but everything from the slopes to all the locate shops where the best. The condo it's self was great, everything we could want and more, was there. Cant wait to go back... Later this year!
“An adventure in Quietness!” An adventure in Quietness!
If quiet and rural is what you desire, read on! My trip started from Seattle, driving to Santa Fe for a conference. After the four day session, I needed to rest and relax before heading back. Having read an article about a ranch outside Durango, Colorado, I called to make a reservation. The owner, Kristie, answered the phone, and was the most congenial person I have spoken with in a long time! She explained it was very quiet there, and quite rural. Just what I needed to R&R.;
Arriving after a 5-hour drive, I was pleasantly surprised. A beautiful iron gate on the lower driveway opened to a long, winding road to the top of the hill. What met my eye was the greatest view in the world. A quaint cottage beautifully set to enjoy the incredible scenes of mountains filled with snow, sunshine in the day, and magnificent bright stars at night. This one bedroom cottage was exactly as described. All the accoutrements of a harvest kitchen, a living room filled with lovely, relaxing furnishings, wood fireplace, and a large TV. A roomy bathroom with a glass door bathtub, and a patio out the kitchen door with a wonderful BBQ...what more could I ask for? This is truly a magical cottage, perfect for a single person, or Honeymooners, or for folks celebrating their anniversary. Don't delay in making a reservation---as soon as word gets out, people will clamber to stay in this wonderful quaint cottage. No more hotels for me!

“Home away from Home” We felt right at home at The Pines. Linda met us upon arrival and warmly welcomed us to 'our home away from home'. Notes on the fridge and the comprehensive package that we received prior to our arrival really helped us settle in comfortably. Every amenity was available- gas BBQ, fireplace, laundry facilities, games, tourist brochures and food basics in the pantry. We enjoyed staying in a rural setting with a quick highway drive to Durango. The biggest plus is that the Durango Silverton steam train runs at the back of the property. My husband, who is a model train hobbyist, was thrilled. He always had the movie camera ready to capture the daily runs. Great place with great value!
“Peaceful and quiet getaway!!” We recently stayed at the Red Rock Room in Durango in the Animas Valley for 3 nights. We could not have been more pleased. Room was ample in size, had all the amenities plus much more than a motel room. We live in the country so quiet is our main concern as most motels are noisy. The red rock room was so peaceful, the deck outside is private and affords a gorgeous view of the foothills to the mountains. The room was clean and so comfortable and no "cleaning smells" often found in motels. We were more than comfortable and slept very well while there. Wi-fi is great. We were just minutes away from the town of Durango but felt like miles away in the country! We were even able to have our trusty travel companion Emmy our Pembroke Welsh Corgi along. We would definitely stay here again it was just the two of us my husband and myself.
“Location, Location, Location” Perfectly situated near several mountain biking and hiking trails. The Colorado trail is within easy walking distance from the residence. You can even pan for gold in Junction Creek! A beautiful family owned home that is warm and welcoming.
