“great vacation spot” The Mashek home is beautiful, comfortable and well-taken care of. We are accustomed to self catering, but here, if you prefer, most everything will be taken care of. I believe most people would be perfectly content lounging here by the pool- for days. However, one of the best beaches in the world is a 15 minute walk away. At night, we would lay out under the stars and find shapes in the clouds. As a family of three, we only required one bedroom, but the layout of the home affords plenty of privacy between the sleeping areas, and capitalizes on the outdoor living spaces. There are three separate bedrooms that can be utilized, so a couple, or two or three, or two families with kids can all enjoy this home Bien and Rafael are very hospitable and kind. Bien will cook a great meal for you. The owner, Scott was on the property while we were there, and we enjoyed his friendship and guidance about all things local. Some practical tips about here and D.R. in general: This home is within 20 minutes beautiful drive from aZS airport should you arrive there. It's best to know some spanish. Having a quad or a scooter, is helpful. We spent half a week without our own, which was fine, but with a quad, we enjoyed all the more. Las Terrenas is a lively town not too far away when you want to enjoy it , but it is also just far enough away. At the nearest beach are two mostly-empty resorts with resort - type amenities if you want to enjoy them. But adjacent is practically empty beautiful beaches for your sole enjoyment if that's more your thing. And, of course, the house is so comfortable, the view spectacular, and the pool so inviting that you won't even have to leave.
