“I'd return in the future!” This is a fantastic place to vacation with a family. Near the botanic garden and the historic Santa Barbara Mission, it offers plenty of space, nice large bedrooms, an outdoor grill, pool and spa. To top it off there are a variety of citrus trees that the owner lets you take fruit from. You can't beat fresh oranges right off the tree!

“Lovely place to stay, very conveniently located” Mimi's place is very lovely. The beds are small (full), but very comfortable. The place has a very central location. Easily walkable from the train station and a plethora of restaurants, tasting rooms and nightlife. Mimi was very easy to work with. We would stay here again!

“A fabulous retreat/get away!” My husband and I were totally happy and comfortable at the Hourglass Retreat. The accommodations were thoughtful, extensive and added to our stay greatly. Wendy was easy to work with and though she lives on the same "block", her presence was evident at just the perfect amount of times. The quiet and private home felt like we had a little slice of heaven with the outdoor spa, the clear bright stars every night, the comfortable options within the home; all added up to a wonderful week away for our almost 40th anniversary. Location-wise, we were close to many wonderful aspects of Santa Barbara plus excellent hiking, gardens and the historic Mission, to name a few. If stairs are an issue, this is not a place for you, but otherwise; go!

“Private, charming a bit of old word with modern conveniences.” Wendy was extremely helpful and accommodating. My son Eric shares those sentiments. The cleaning crew who awaited my arrival were helpful too and took time to let me try my hand at the lock-box to retrieve the keys. My one comment, which does not reflect our general pleasure and enjoyment of the hideaway is to suggest that 2 ply toilet paper be used! Cheaper in the long run because one needs fewer squares and much easier to handle. Sorry, my Mother taught me never to skimp on either toilet paper or food. I've lived 82 happy years following that important recommendation!Sounds silly, but it is important to many too embarrassed to admit it! Suzanne Lafond

“A comfortable well equipped little oasis in a convenient locatio” The owner Wendy is efficient, professional and charming. The cottage was very well equipped with everything you could need in a rental home and more. Lots of extra touches - plentiful supply of towels, toiletries, coffee beans to keep you going and two different types of coffee maker. Located in a quiet residential area within easy walking/ very short drive of main shops on State Street. You can live like a local. Highly recommended for a couple or small family.
