Tropical Hideaway Infinity Studio is reached through lush tropical gardens, just a few steps down from the large car parking area and is on the same level as the Infinity pool. The accommodation is simply stunning and offers a combination of luxury, privacy, space and affordability that is hard to come by these days. The room measures around 9m (30') in length and nearly 5.8m (19') wide and is huge.

A solid oak, queen size four poster bed is positioned centrally in the room and to the right of this is a small kitchenette complete with sink unit, 2 burner gas hob, fridge, combination microwave oven, toaster, kettle, Cafetiere and a complete range of high quality cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery. An ice bucket is supplied and complimentary ice is available from the villa owners or their staff.

A spacious en-suite toilet and shower room leads from the living area and this has solid oak furniture with granite tops and luxurious fittings throughout. Walls and floor are finished using natural coral stone tiles. The shower has a built in seat and is finished in natural stone pebble and coral to a very high standard. A window looks out over tropical gardens and the harbour. A complimentary range of bathroom toiletries are provided, together with quality bath linen and pool towels.

Two pairs of patio doors lead onto colonial style covered veranda's with archways above, ensuring the room remains cool and bright yet protected from strong sunshine and any passing tropical showers that keep the gardens colourful and vibrant. The surrounding stone decked patios include an authentic Thai cartwheel coffee table with views of St Vincent Island, Admiralty Bay, lush tropical gardens and the surrounding forested hills. Another patio has stunning views looking out onto the Infinity pool and the Caribbean Sea. A breakfast table is positioned here and you can also relax in a lovely hammock swinging under the arch.

What perhaps really stands out is the 2.74 x 1.4m (9 x 4' 6”) wide, authentic stone bath originating from a small Indonesian island. This started life as a huge boulder lying on a remote hillside some 3m (10') in diameter and weighing several tonnes. Local tribesmen cut the rock in half and on wooden skids the boulder was carefully manoeuvred down the hillside to the local village. Here the craftsmen hand carved the inside of the boulder until a bath like hollow was formed in the rock. After many months of painstaking work, it was ready for its long journey half way around the world to its final resting place here in Bequia. Its final weight on arrival in the Infinity room was an impressive 3 tonnes.

The latest High-Tec Samsung 40” internet Tv gives access to our in-house entertainment system supplying high definition films, Tv, music and Internet radio. The television is positioned to allow viewing from both the comfort of your bed and the armchair seating areas. High speed internet and Wi-Fi is supplied in the room and for those really hot days when the cooling Caribbean wind has taken a rest, you can turn on the air conditioner until the breeze returns. A ceiling fan is also positioned over the bed. All of the windows are fully screened and the patio doors have sliding insect screens allowing you to have the doors and windows open and still enjoy the ambience of outdoor living without getting bitten. We have no biting sand flies (no see ums) at Tropical Hideaway and are usually mosquito free most of the year, except for a few around evening time.

The very large and beautiful 18m wide Infinity edge swimming pool is just a few steps away and this is solar heated, allowing the pool to be enjoyed all year round. Our winter pool temperatures are usually just below 30deg C with our summer pool temperatures rising to around 34deg C (93deg F). The majority of the pool is around 1.3m (52”) deep increasing to a maximum depth of around 2.2m (86”). Curved and generous steps allow easy access to the water and several raised areas provide an abundance of areas to sit, stand, chat or relax. Natural coral seats surround both the pool bar and the Gazebo daybed and with the large cedar tile roof overhangs, shade can be found in the pool at most times of the day. The entire pool is tiled using natural stone pebbles in pastel shades of greens and blues creating a visually stunning, balanced and natural effect, that blends perfectly with the turquoise colours of the Caribbean sea. As your eyes wonder out over the infinity edge and focus on the horizon, you cannot fail to be impressed. Now would be a good time to pinch yourself and appreciate the realisation of where you are and what you are looking at. These are often very private and magical moments and we know these memories will be with you for many years to come.

The Gazebo has a daybed suitable for up to 4 people and enjoys high definition Tv, music, internet radio and Wi-Fi. This is the ultimate place to wind down, relax and read a book or simply take in the stunning, panoramic views, they will take your breath away. Your own personal drinks and food can be enjoyed from these areas and the sunken, swim up Pool Bar, has a fridge, sink and serving area for your convenience. Led lighting enhances the evening ambience and pool lights allow the pool to be used after the sun has set. A large, non slip, coral tile patio adjoins directly onto the pool and this is furnished with sun loungers, parasols, chairs and tables, the perfect place to sunbathe and relax.

Tropical Hideaway has without doubt some of the finest rooms on Bequia and coupled with the spectacular panoramic ocean views, and the beautiful evening sunsets, you soon realise you are enjoying, what many say, are the finest views on Bequia, from the finest accommodation on Bequia. Specialising in couples and small groups Tropical Hideaway can sleep from 2 to 12 guests in luxurious and very private accommodation. Please view our other listings here or visit our comprehensive website for details on the Tropical Hideaway Pool House, Hibiscus and Palm Cottage and the incredible Tropical Hideaway Penthouse Suite.

We know you will enjoy the experience.

The Bequia region

The small island of Bequia gives you the true Caribbean, a sought after yet not quite discovered piece of paradise which is hard to find anywhere else. Unspoilt by mass tourism, it feels like home from the moment you arrive. You will find the people relaxed and easy-going, greeting you as you walk by and always available to offer help and advice.

The small airport opened in 1992. Until then, you could only reach Bequia by sea. This seafaring heritage is very evident on the island. Every family has some ties to the sea through fishing, boat building, sailing, merchant shipping and everyone has a tale to tell, over a beer or two. It is also a yachties 'best kept secret' and most yachts large or small find they drop anchor in the pretty bay at some time during their voyage. It is an island not to be missed

There are many beautiful, natural white sandy beaches, lush green hillsides and attractive villages. It caters for guests who want a quiet, relaxing holiday,or to those who want to fill their time with fun and adventure. During the winter season especially, there is something going on somewhere every night of the week..

The Caribbean is blessed with ideal temperatures all year round with daytime temperatures averaging between 25C (77F) and 30C (86F) throughout the year. An evening in the winter months (January to March) might see a low of around 24C (75F) and in the summer months the temperature will occasionally reach 32C (90F).

Richmond, Bequia

Princess Margaret, Lower Bay and Friendship Bay have some of the best beaches on the island and they are all within walking distance, Take a picnic or eat and drink at the local restaurants and bars. Belmont Walkway is only 25 minutes away and is a beautiful beachfront pathway passing various cafes, bars and shops which are well worth visiting. Both dive operators are based along here and cater for novices to experts. This is very popular pastime with visitors who want to explore the beautiful clear waters.

You can discover the island by taxi, or you can hire a car, scooter or bike. You can visit the Turtle sanctuary, plantation gardens, museums and pottery which are dotted around. Take a day trip to the neighbouring Mustique, Union or Canouan islands by fast ferry, or the world famous Tobago Cays by yacht or the Friendship Rose. Visit our 'mainland' of St Vincent and explore the volcano and waterfalls.

Bequia has its own 4 day Easter Regatta where, if you are lucky, you may be invited to race on one of the boats. It also has its own 4 day Music Fest at the very end of January. Bequia Carnival is usually in June and Vincy Carnival is around late June/early July
