The Marrakech/Essaouira region

Sarayas is charming GuestHouse in Ouarzazate in southern Morocco between the Atlas and the desert. This cozy guest house is located 8 km from Ouarzazate to the edge of a palm grove and a river in a small village. Magnificent views of the Atlas and the kasbah Tifoultoute. You leave the hostel to find you in the palm grove with gardens. The hostel has 6 rooms with bathroom, large patio, a Moroccan lounge. A haven for rest or to start hiking, tours and excursions. We also arrange tours with a bivouac in the desert at the foot of the dunes under the stars with a meal and the music of nomadic around a campfire. We offer a buffet during the day. For groups, we offer camp to our guest house in the palm grove.

Ouarzazate is ???? name made up of two words, 'Ouar' means without and 'Zazat' means noise. That is why the people of the region chose to call it Ouarzazate, which means 'without noise'. It was built in 1920 on a military barracks set up by the French protectorate at the crossroads leading to the oasis of the valley of Draa. From there to the Western Sahara and oasis Valley Cicada on one side and the Eastern Desert on the other side. Ouarzazate has been the cities quiet, built on the valley Zat which lacks even the most basic necessities. This region is characterised unique to contradictions of Morocco. These include snow on top of the mountains, sand dunes, barren deserts and green oasis. The sources that are not depleted, dry valleys and the most famous Thirst Valley. It is also the land for crops which do not germinate anywhere else in Morocco apart from this semi-desert region such as palm and free henna, saffron and rose municipal.

This distinctive region diverse in nature, fashion and Ohazajeha architecture and lifestyle has had a significant impact in making it the capital of the mountainous and desert tourism within Morocco. The nature and desert conditions is also without doubt the reason why global blockbuster film makers used the region to make films and making it known as 'Hollywood Africa'.
