Nestled among the beachfront neighbourhood of Gibbs, St. Peter, Shoestring is one of the newest additions to the Villa Rental market in Barbados. Set against a backdrop of towering trees and aquamarine sea, the composition of this beachfront home celebrates Barbados’ vernacular wooden chattel house.

Bold architectural layering with large living areas, surrounding louvre windows and oversized glass doors allows for extensive views of the garden and what is undeniably one of Barbados’ best beaches. Smooth granite finishes juxtaposed next to glass provides a sophisticated and minimalistic composition and the straight lines and shape of the front entrance, hovering over a peaceful koi pond evokes a clear sense of sophisticated and modern tranquillity.

Expanded floor plans, minimal interior walls and an emphasis on views and daylight are the defining characteristics of Shoestring which offers an upper-level master suite built around a large glass shower enclosure and an unrivalled view of the aqua sea just steps away.

The open floor plan continues to the kitchen and living areas and lets an abundance of light fill the space. Light coloured wall surfaces, clean, modern detailing, uncluttered spaces and a neutral colour palette give the interior a calm, interesting appeal for those visitors who wish for more than just a place to lay their heads.

An outdoor jacuzzi makes for good stargazing with the lapping shore as background music. The two additional lower level bedrooms are also en-suite, one boasting a cool tub with garden views, all bedrooms are king beds and air-conditioned.

While staying at Shoestring guests will be spoiled by our very attentive staff comprising of a cook/housekeeper and laundress. They will look after your every need serving up sumptuous cuisine and keeping the villa spic and span.

Shoestring is ideally located on one of the best beaches in Barbados. Gibbs Beach has pristine white powdery sand, calm crystal clear aquamarine waters, vibrant foliage and flora, and many huge trees providing welcome shade from the heat. The water is safe for swimming and its clarity makes it perfect for snorkelling. Unlike many beaches on Barbados' West Coast, Gibbs Beach, fortunately, slopes gently to the water's edge, so there are no sudden drops and the sandy sea floor is pebble-free.

There are some water sports operators who can offer visitors to Gibbs Beach water skiing, banana boat rides, parasailing, Hobie cats and wave running. However, Gibbs Beach is generally quiet and tranquil, and less well known than other nearby beaches, so you are practically guaranteed a serene, noise-free time at the beach during the week.

Gibbs Beach is highly recommended to visitors to Barbados who like taking morning or evening strolls or jogs along the beach, and is an ideal location for families with young children.
