Riad | 5 bedrooms | sleeps 12
Dar Rocmarra is conveniently situated near the Dar el Bacha taxi point only a few minutes from the souks and approx. 10 minutes from the Jmaa el Fna square.
This centuries old riad has been renovated with respect for local crafts evident in the hand cut floor tiles (fish scales in Bijou room),carved plaster columns, metalwork and fragrant cedar carpentry.
We have 4 double ensuite rooms and 1 large suite, all individually decorated with a variety of embroidered and hand woven fabrics, carved wooden panels. traditional Berber rugs etc etc.
Our beds are large, our matresses comfortable, are linens crisp.
Ensuites feature tadelakt sculpted showers/baths, and we provide fluffy white towels, bath robes and slippers.
The courtyard is shady and relaxing with olive tree and potted palms, comfortable seating, dipping pool and our own mix of chill out music.
For cooler evenings there is a sunken seating area (B'hou) around an open fire.
The roof terrace has sunbeds and a seating area with pergola and panoramic views over Marrakech rooftops to the mountains beyond.
On arrival at Dar Rocmarra you will be welcomed by our manageress Jamila in the traditional manner with mint tea and pastries served in the courtyard.
Our staff are on hand to help you get the most out of your stay in Marrakech and can recommend excursions, hammans and restaurants, and book these for you if required.
Latifa will keep your room as immaculate as the day of your arrival although we do not guarantee the strewn rose petals every day!
Jalil arrives in the evening in time to serve a sundowner on the roof terrace and light the fire if chilly and is on hand overnight to ensure the smooth running of the riad.

The Marrakech/Essaouira region
Marrakech is well known for being a place of exotic vibrancy unlike any other destination so close to Europe.
From the minute you leave the airport all your senses are bombarded with sights, sounds, smells that imprint themselves in your mind so that one visit is never enough.
The climate is hot by day, perfect for sitting on a terrace watching the constantly changing scene infront of you.
There is something to interest everyone, with monuments and places of great architectural interest, unique gardens created bt Jaques Majorel and restored in.....by Yves St Laurent; for the energetic there are quad bike excursions, golf courses, camel riding; for the less energetic there are hammans and beauty treatments and places like plage rouge with enormous pool, endless sunbeds and constant waiter service not to mention shopping and simply people watching.
For the foodies, a huge variety of eating venues from the not to be missed stalls in the Jma el Fna, the tucked away restaurants frequented by locals and tourists alike to the finedining to be found in some of the larger riads and restaurants outside the city walls.M is the venue for the international film festival and the gnawa music festival in Essaoiura. not to be missed
Marrakech is found inland and is in the unique position of being in the middle of the Atlas mountains, the Atlantic coast, something for everyone....skiing, sun one minute, snow the next and back for supper, day trip to essaouira, surfing and seafood.
inland exploring and camping trips to the desert, so much available
