“Excellent location in Colonial Quito, spacious apartment” This was a fabulous place for our family to stay in Old Town Quito. Leonor's parents were there to meet us - we were late arriving and they waited for us - along with her adult daughter who lives a couple blocks away. My daughter was sick when we arrived, and Leonor's mom took care of her; made her tea. The apartment itself is wonderful, fully equipped, and very spacious. It's just a few blocks up the hill from all the attractions of Colonial Quito. The building is very secure, and the guard helped me load the phone (that comes with the apartment) with minutes. We also stayed in the condo near the airport also owned by Leonor which also worked out very well.

“Delightful mini-hacienda in the heart of magical Quito.” Owners andi and Wolfgang have taken a diamond in the rough and restored it into a shining gem. We were blown away by the beautiful garden and all the colorful flowers. Wantara is private, quite and restful. I loved sitting in the garden with the owners and fellow guests in the early evenings sharing traveler tales. The suite we stayed in was very comfortable and impeccably clean. Wolfgang and andi welcomed us by lighting a fire in the fire place on our arrival. They went above and beyond helping us plan our stay by recommending museums, galleries, churches, vegetarian restaurants... They also helped us with the return of our rental car and getting to the airport. We cooked many of our meals in the suite as the kitchen was well stocked. I can't wait to return!!! Btw: I'm really surprised by the previous negative review by the couple from Chicago. I was there at the same time that they were. They told me so many wonderful things about their long stay at Wantara and it's owners. Wolfgang and andi scheduled a cab to take them to the airport and where there to see them off with a big hug. I'm puzzled. Anyway, go and enjoy this little piece of the past with all the modern accommodations you need!!! Ps You will be walking distance to all Quito has to offer at a very reasonable price.
