“Home away from home!” Wow what can I say but thank God for this place. My husband's father passed away and we needed to get up there right away. I have looked for a place with a kitchen so I could cook for my husband who has food alergies . Most places had a fridge and a microwave but no stove. A friend called me and told me to call Ron and his wife. They were so kind and helfpul in getting us set up to be there . This place was so easy to be at home in , we hated to leave. It was a wonderful retreat and a place to heal from a sadness that brought us up to the U.P. in the first place. This cottage gives you a big hug when you enter and a hug when you leave. We hope to be back in the future and on a more happy occasion. Thank you so much for sharing this place with us . It was a true blessing!

“Perfect peaceful cabin for a relaxing vacation!” This cabin is in a remote and private location, has all the amenities you could want or need... the managers were a delight to deal with- and even delivered a new coffee maker to our door within an hour of us calling to tell them our carafe was cracked. Be sure to visit Pictured Rocks- we recommend the boat tour! Kayaking the local lakes and Lake Superior was a definite highlight of the trip. The house is as beautiful as the view- I highly recommend this rental and fully intend to come back!

“we couldn't have asked for better accomodations and lots of fun.” We are all Grandparents that love to have kid-like fun riding the aTV trails (therefore the name). Our time at Heaven on Stevens Lake was more than we could have hoped for. We had beautiful weather, great fun on the trails, good food on the deck and lots of laughs. The mornings on the lake were so peaceful. Some even took a canoe ride around the lake, and didn't fall in! The house had everything you could need for a stay. We had 5 couples that stayed at the house, and there was plenty of room. Visits around the firepit will be talked about for years to come. I think the only disappointment was no air-conditioning, but the nights cooled off and sleeping was comfortable. We will definitely consider coming back.

“Great Family Getaway” The cabin was beautiful. My husband and I stayed there for a week with our 5 children ages from 6 to 18. It had every amenity, waffle maker, extra beach towels, etc. The location was great. We did waterfall tours, pictured rock boat tours, Pete's lake was lovely. I highly recommend.

“Low key, calm, awesome location!” This rental is amazing because it would work so well for people from various walks of life! Couples vacationing together, a family vacationing alone, families with kids or not with kids, you decide! It will work for everyone. Cottage feel with narrow ladder steps to upper floor and basement are fun but could be an issue for those with bad knees or toddlers not good with stairs. We traveled with several adults and several kids aged 2-8 and it was great. There is just enough separate space with the screened in sun porch and hammock and the basement playroom, that people can always find peace and quiet. The beach is a small walk but with provided bikes for kids and adults as well as a wagon (or just on foot) it is a pleasant, easy stroll and didn't feel like work to do it multiple times a day. Beach has walking ramp access and is very easy to get to. Bring water shoes if you plan to get in because even though the beach is sandy, there are a ton of small rocks at the waterline that are no fun with bare feet. Water was chilly even in August but didn't stop any of us! Enjoy!

Holiday home with golf nearby in Union Pier

Union Pier house

“Best Kept Secret in Southwest Michigan-Heart of Wine Country” As a fairly well known celebrity, I was looking for privacy, seclusion and beauty. Away from it all but still close to many friends/family in Chicago. I have traveled to many places in my life and have been to Union Pier/Southwest Michigan a number of times in the past six years, but I have never expierienced an ambience so perfect that one has to experience it to believe it. No matter what I say, it will not do this wonderful property justice. I will try. Secluded and Private. The beautiful and quiet lake. The smell of the flowers and trees, the beautiful natural light, attention to detail, beautiful wood work, art, a beautiful kitchen with appliances and flatware, silverware, and glassware that are beautiful as much as they are functional, comfortable beds, a beautiful 3 season room overlooking the lake all create a very special environment. I dare to say that had it rained my entire stay, I would have been content to stay in the cottage and enjoy a property that the owner obviously holds dear. The property was clean, the amenities were beyond what one would find in a four or five star hotel, and all claims by the owner in the listing were accurate and truthful. The pictures accurately portrayed the layout and beauty of the cottage. I must say, I was as surprised to find that Sanctuaire is on a dead end in a quiet residential street with a wonderful neighborhood to stay and I found a number of excellent eating options although I must admit, I did cook one meal in the cottage due to the fact that there are wonderful market on Chemery Street. For those who like it, I found the French Restaurant an excellent choice. The Thai restaurant was also a great place to enjoy other ethnic cuisine. The cottage is conveninent and very close to Lake Michigan. And yes, it is minutes from the house. I hope to stay at the cottage again this fall. Thank you Mona. I will be sure to come again if your cottage is available.

Holiday condo in Michigan

Harbor Springs condo

“Great place to stay” The 3 bedroom condo was a joy to stay in. There is plenty of room for a large family, and the condo has everything (all cooking utensils, pillows and blankets, cleaning supplies, games etc) but the food. The grounds are beautiful, the heated pool and lookout were great. The place was so clean, quiet and comfortable. We will definitely stay there again.

“Peaceful Cabin GetAway” The cabin was everything it said it was and more. My family really enjoyed going up there. The location was great! Not far from Traverse City, and even Sleepy Bear Dunes. The beds were all comfortable and nice fit for our whole family. We loved going boating and fishing with all the boats. They were a nice added bonus. The lake was clean and quiet. Swimming right off the dock was fun too. We'd love to come back and stay again!

Michigan holidays

Extending away from two peninsulas and touching four of the five Great Lakes, Michigan is a diverse and beautiful state that is quintessentially Midwestern. Vast expanses of wilderness, spectacular beaches and welcoming cities make up the fabric of the state, and Michigan's outdoor appeal is complimented by its metropolis, Detroit.

If you're visiting Michigan, some of the things you'll want to check out include:

  • Detroit: This town is home to the Henry Ford Museum, a rich artistic and musical culture, three major cassinos, and a wealth of excellent restaurants and entertainment venues.
  • macinac Island: Vehicles are not permitted on this beautiful island, which blooms with fields of wildflowers and berries that grow fresh and ripe in the summertime. Once you get your car back, a drive across the macinac Bridge is truly awe-inspiring. This graceful suspension bridge is the largest of its kind in the western hemisphere.
  • Isle Royale National Park: One of the most famous National Parks in Michigan, Isle Royale National Park is located on the state's northwestern shores, abutting Lake Superior. It also offers some of the best camping in Michigan.
  • Harbor Country: Filled with quaint towns and rural farms, Harbor Country is one of the best venues for Michigan romantic getaways. Summer and fall are the perfect times of year to experience the area's slow-paced, welcoming vibe and historic appeal.
  • Muskegon: One of the state's most widely visited cities, Muskegon is home to Michigan's Adventure, one of the best amusement parks in Michigan. It's a perfect place to bring your family for an unforgettable day.

Summer is widely considered the best time to get outdoors and enjoy Michigan's scenic beauty, but winter visits are equally satisfying. The state offers world-class winter sports, and the famous Detroit Auto Show is held annually in January and is a must for automotive enthusiasts.

A cabin rental is the perfect way to enjoy the idyllic beauty of the Michigan countryside, and if you're staying in the city, consider a condo as your holiday rental instead of a hotel. You'll enjoy all the comforts of home, and you'll have more space and privacy.

If you want to explore beyond Michigan, you can head north into southern Ontario, Canada, which is just across the Ambassador Bridge in Detroit. The beautiful lakes of Minnesota and the relaxing Midwestern vibe of Wisconsin are also just a short drive away.

Great Place to Stay

Had an awesome stay. We were up snowmobiling for a long weekend. We were able to park two trucks with four place snowmobile trailers in the driveway and the trail was right down the road. By the looks of it they are always making improvements which is nice to see. The self check in is nice for travelers. Wendy was great on answering my questions.see more

Clean and comfy

The cabin was spotless and well cared for. The owner responded to texts immediately. The cabin was decorated really cute. Nice kitchen with lots of counter space. Everything feels new. The bathroom was huge and clean with a full washer and dryer. Never had to use AC because the ceiling fans worked so well. Lots of window for a cool breeze. FYI there are are no streaming services, and there aren’t many channel option with the satellite tv, but there is a dvd player and a Redbox at the nearby Dollar General. One thing we weren’t expecting was that you can hear the nearby road when you’re sitting outside. Only complaint is that the bed is very squeaky (but comfortable). Overall, it was easy to feel at home and I would stay here again.see more
