“Get away to Hummingbird Haven” When we arrived at Hummingbird Haven we were excited. Pulling up into the gravel driveway that was arched with fresh honeysuckles was a great first impression and that was just the beginning. When we arrived and saw how magnificent the cabin and surrounding property was, we were truly in awe. The place was tucked off of a secluded back-road and it appeared to be the perfect place for a get-away and we hadn't seen the inside of the cabin yet. Cue Daisy & Tony. They strolled up and were so welcoming to us it was refreshing how good-natured and kind they were as hosts. Right from the get-go we felt at home. Then we went inside the cabin, a beautiful 1 bedroom structure tucked in the Fairview pines that was built in the early 1950's- only a few decades removed from when the area was known as a much sought-after retreat named Fernvale. To say the cabin was gorgeous would be an understatement. Our jaws dropped at how cozy and idyllic the inside was. It was perfect for us and the wonders didn't stop there. Daisy & Tony were incredibly thoughtful and even accommodated us with suggestions on things to do around town. It was little things like this that confirmed that our stay was above and beyond our expectations. Added perks? You betcha. The fridge had some of the best homemade lemonade we ever had, the cantaloupe was the sweetest we had ever tasted, and the trusty companionship of Peppi (their happy-go-lucky farm dog) just made our time there even more complete. Did I mention the screened-in front porch? We sat outside listening to the frogs and crickets while we watched lightning bugs dance around in the warm Tennessee night. It was the type of experience you dream about having when you go off on a trip of rest and relaxation. We left feeling rejuvenated and happy beyond words about all the unexpected delights of Hummingbird Haven. We would not hesitate to come back and we are definitely looking forward to those charmed Tennessee nights once more.
