“Stay in friendly comfort and safety.” I have actually stayed at Villa Golondrina several times: twice with my husband and once with a great good friend and traveling companion. In each case we were in the apartment as a base for studying at a nearby Spanish language school to which we could walk. But we also learned the local bus service, and thereby with Jim's recommendations, found many wonderful restaurants all over Cuernavaca. Sometimes we shopped at local markets and prepared our own dinners in the fully stocked apartment kitchen. Taxis are also available with a phone call and are very inexpensive. On each visit we hired a taxi to take us to the nearby market village of Tepoztlan where there is also an ancient pyramid temple to which one can climb to experience fantastic views and the touted positive psychic energies.
The apartments are furnished with Mexican style furniture and everything one would want for a home away from home. Jim's houseboy, Pancho, keeps the places spic and span and goes out of his way to accommodate every wish of his guests.
“Fantastic Vista & Exceptional Hospitality” I recently spent 5 days with my boyfriend at this spacious and affording studio. The vistas were spectacular from the location of the Rodriguez household. We took many panoramic pictures of the city from our place just under the Bufa. Our favorite detail of the studio was the boveda ceiling. The walk to the main street is about 15 minutes and traverses through a variety of mini neighborhoods that allow you to see the locals and if you're hungry and can't wait to get to the main road, they have food for purchase.
But the physical location of the studio pales to Buzz' hospitality. He agreed to pick us up at the airport (for an added charge) to alleviate some of the jetlag. He was right on time and cheerful. His hospitality reach a new lever when we were informed a delay in my boyfriend's flight. We ended up waiting for a few hours before having to leave the airport to return at 11 pm. In the hours between the original time of pick up and when we returned, he took me to dinner, shopping for water, and to get some ice-cream, all the while he shared generously of his life. He dropped off a bag of home grown tomatoes and limes which I in turn cut up for breakfast the following day. All in all Buzz was a gem. Thee only shortcoming is that we did not get a chance to meet Maria but her influence was felt in the extra pillows and blankets to keep us warm in the early hours of the morning.
We are definitely looking forward to seeing them again.
“Beautiful in every way” We stayed with Buzz and Maria and had the best time. The room was amazing along with the view. They were very helpful in every way. We absolutely loved it there and will be back again. But be careful.. You might not want to leave..
“This is an amazing home!” I defy anyone that has stayed here to say that this home isnt among the most amazing homes they've ever seen let alone stay in! I cannot imagine a better home to stay in SMa than this one. For us the price was a little high but we splurged..and it was actually soo worth it. Waking up and having coffee by the pool or up on the rooftop patio was something I will never forget. And then there were the naps on the sala (porch)...This house makes you not even want to leave it is so beautiful. I cannot say enough about our time here...it was great! Oh and the housekeepers/cooks Rosa and Theresa were extremely nice..our 5yr old son loved them! I promise you, you cannot go wrong with this house.
