“The Envy of all My Friends!” Casa Caracol, Apt. 2, was my home for three months and was the envy of everyone who saw it! It is the perfect size for a single person or cosy for a couple, is nicely decorated, gets lots of sunlight, is well-equipped for basic cooking, has ample storage space and has the most stunning view in San Miguel. The neighborhood is quiet and safe and the 15 minute walk up and down to the Centro took inches off my thighs! Chela, the maid, took care of any minor problems (light bulb out, etc.) and Maria, the laundress, delivered my carefully washed and ironed clothes weekly. The upper unit, Apt. 1, is stunning, much larger with fantastic views and a great place to stay if you want to do more entertaining. The guest bedroom option is perfect if you are expecting friends to visit. And the rooftop terrace - a sunny blissful place to relax with a beer and a good book until one drifts off into a Mexican siesta. The owners, Charlotte and Wolf, could not have been nicer or more helpful. The entire three months was one of the nicest experiences of my life!

“Convenient for walks/taxis” We made the right choice staying in the casita. Easy to walk to shops and restaurants, including a nice grocery store, dry cleaning, salons, computer store, banks/ATM, and coffee shops. Taxis parked around the corner from the house, and we could easily get around town for 30-50 pesos per ride. The house was well-appointed with all dishes and linens. House has phone for making calls with TelCel credit - you can send and receive text and voice messages. Bedroom has shutters to darken room completely. Small balcony is nice for watching sunsets and mountain views. American style washing machine/dryer. Carol was very helpful with travel tips and suggestions. Two cons: Bring earplugs, as we heard a few neighborhood parties and barking dogs. Internet was a little patchy, but they are working to improve the service.

“Enchanting Villa” Even more beautiful and comfortable than advertised. Have stayed in many villas around the world and Casa Carolina is in the top tier. Ambiance was perfectly matched to San Miguel and its colonial Mexican culture. Location could not have been better for easy access to just about everything one would want to enjoy in San Miguel. Totally safe, totally comfortable. The owners were most responsive to our smallest questions, but the real gem was our housekeeper/cook, Berta. Charming, efficient, very helpful in many ways. An amazing cook; responsive to all our culinary desires. We plan to return to Casa Carolina.

“The best vacation rental home you could hope for.” This vacation home is truly a 'home away from home.' Diane has thought of everything you might need or want, from the basics like kitchen and bathroom supplies to extras like two cell phones, a laptop computer with wireless internet connection, to a library of Dvd's and books, cable TV, and weekly cleaning service. The home is located in a quiet area, and it's bright with lots of windows and natural light. The furnishings are top quality as well as the appliances, etc. All up to us standards and more than you might expect to find in the heart of central Mexico. I would highly recommend this property to anyone who wants to stay short or long term in San Miguel. Security is also top notch with an intercom system into the house from the street. Transportation is also easy to obtain and close by with a choice of bus or taxi, and the Mega grocery store is within walking distance. We loved our stay at CasaCoony in San Miguel de allende and know you would also.
