Private Villa Tulia on the beach
A lovely and well-decorated place next to wonderful beach

We just returned from our holidays in Zanzibar, we choose to stay in a house instead of an hotel in order to be free to organize our days and meals. The house is very well-decorated and there is one bathroom per room which is highly appreciated. The kitchen was fully equipped and we enjoyed cooking fresh fish, though it can be a little bit complicated to gather every ingredient you may need (there is little shops next to the house but not very well-supplied). The massais who were looking after us and the house are nice; the prices of excursions are quite high but we did not plan to do that much so it was ok for us. The amazing beach was the thing we were looking for and the water was so clear (just be careful with sea urchins), the sand was as white as on the postcards. We definitely enjoyed our stay in the house.see more
Luxurious fully Serviced Beach Villa in Zanzibar
This is a hidden gem!

We vacationed here with friends from mainland Tanzania as well as friends from Australia who have literally traveled the world.I cant say enough about the house itself. Every room is a delight, ours was the opstairs far left room when your looking at the image listed. Two sets of beautiful double doors lead right out to the veranda, the view of the ocean was simply breathtaking right from your bed. Unlike many of the reviews you read about houses on the beaches of Zanzibar, this one sits on extremely clean, fluffy sand just steps from the ocean. (We live on the beaches of the east coast USA so we have seen alot of beaches. You wont be bothered by anyone sellibg things, although you dont have to look far if you want fresh seafood. There is a market maybe a mile or so down the beach where we purchased, fresh fish. The staff was extremely hhelpful. I love to cook and wanted to learn to make a local dish and had brought the ingredients, La-key, taught us how and it was the most fun. I've even made it since being home although I'm not sure it was quite as tasty as hers. You can request a massage for a very modest price, right there under the shade of a private gazebo facing the ocean. (It's part of the property) Youcan have dinner served in one of the two large dinning areas in the house itself, or as we did one night, have it served ocean front near the same area you can have your massage. You must realise the ocean tides and plan your day accordingly. We looked up the tides on google and were fine. During the day, when the tides are out, there are hundreds of tide pools with living things to see as you walk. You have to wear swim shoes with solid soles to avoid the sea urchins but its worth it. My son and his friend saw sea horses abd blowfush in them. Patience oays off when seeking shells, there is a wide variety. And if you dont find the one you want is empty of its occupant you can always take a walk down the beach where a vendor might have one already cleaned and polished waiting for you. We will tell everyone we know who visits to come here. It is truly a bit of paradise. You never know what your going to get until you arrive, even when there are plenty of reviews, this was a pleasant surprise because it was more than we could gave expected. We rented the powerboat one day for snorkeling, and an evening sailboat trip another. The sailboat was my favorite, must be handcrafted as many of them are there. Handled beautufully... The pool attached to the property is inground, pkenty big enough to enjoy a nice swim and still enjoy the ocean sounds (expecially if you want to relax) when we first arrived we were greeted with coconuts with a straw as a refreshment while sitting on the deck there. We had ten in our group, I can see how several more could've come and there would have been plenty of room. The tables in all of the dinning areas easily fit all of us with room left over, there are two common areas for reading a book or relaxing, the one upstairs has a view if the ocean, the one downstairs is mire of a living room. We had only one occurance where the electricity went out but a generator soon kicked in with no troubles. The air conditioning was ample ( we only used them for sleeping because it was so pretty). I could go on but you realky must see it for yourselves. We will ve coming back one day, our Tanzanian friends will make it back sooner I'm sure. One more thing, we felt safe and had an awesome experience in zanzibar. As with any country you visit, respect the culture your in, respect the people there. Behave just as cautiously as you would in a city at night in your home country. Be smart and not foolish and you will love this place. And its people.see more
