“Great Accommodation in Brotton” We stayed in Susan's house after our flight from Australia. What a fantastic location to start our travels in UK! We were able to access by car all the great destinations in Yorkshire. ...the Moores, the Dales, Whitby, Durham, Pickering etc with ease. Susan's cottage was perfect.All you need to feel at home....very clean and well appointed.Susan was most obliging and made us very welcome.Thanks for going the extra yards for us..we really enjoyed our time in Brotton.

“Fantastic getaway” We hired Waterside House for a long weekend as a venue for our wedding reception and it was absolutely amazing. The property itself was stunning and very well presented. James was extremely helpful and when we needed to ask him anything or request a favour (for example when some of our wedding arrangements went wrong!) he was friendly and helpful. I would not hesitate to hire this property again...we are just working how soon we can go back!

“Superb!” 8 ladies stayed in this beautiful house for a long weekend. The owner gave plenty of useful information before arrival including a full itinerary and comprehensive directions/parking. On arrival we were greeted with a welcome basket including cereal, jam, milk, butter, crisps, chocolate and wine, just perfect and also a birthday card for me, lovely touch! The house is equipped with everything you could need and is furnished to a very high standard. All the fixtures, furnishings and bedding are high quality and there wasn't a speck of dust to be found. A 5 minute walk brings you to the train station in the centre of beautiful Whitby, perfect location. A truly superb find.

“Wonderful location” Only a five minute walk down into the town (ok -ten minutes coming back - but it was uphill!) and a lovely view of the Abbey as you were walking down. Everything in close proximity, with a secure space at the apartment so you could forget about driving and parking. Take the tour bus and be amazed when it stops outside Union Mill as a place of historical interest! Everything you could need in the apartment. And thank you for the welcoming bottle of wine.

“Beautiful, well appointed, relaxing country retreat” Nestled in the countryside, just outside of the village of Brandesburton in Yorkshire. This converted cart shed is a beautiful conversion, retaining some of the original features. It has everything you need for quiet, relaxing time away. We booked this for my wife's 70th birthday celebrations, with family coming from around the country to join us for the weekend in the middle of our stay. We particularly enjoyed being able to watch so much wildlife from the windows on wet days, and out in the garden on others. There are wonderful walks to enjoy, and it is close to many local landmarks. Burton Agnes Hall is close by, as are the towns of Hornsea, Withernsea, Bridlington, Scarborough, and the City of Culture Kingston Upon Hull. We absolutely loved our time here, and were sorry to leave. We were so very well looked after by John and his family. Thankyou

“Brilliant location” Perfectly located to access the beautiful surrounding countryside with great walks for my collie. In the evening it's a short stroll to the local pubs and restaurants. Would definitely recommend Panetti's and The Taste of India. The cottage has everything you need with the addition of the great dog friendly garden with a gate that leads direct to a walk along the beck. The bottle of wine was a lovely touch. We will be returning.

“Fab little place” We booked our overnight stay last minute in February half term and we weren’t disappointed!! The apartment was perfect for what we needed, and to be honest I could’ve stayed there a few more nights. It’s about a 2 minute drive into Whitby and if we’d stayed longer and the weather was better we would’ve walked. The apartment was clean, tidy and well set out. There’s a view of the abbey from the living room and bedroom windows. There’s a Sainsbury’s and Aldi at the end of the road which was ideal. I wouldn’t hesitate to book in here again.

“Escape From The Crowds.” Well I finally found found The Cottage after making three about turns on the road. Down a wee country track, we were met by Ingid, Matt and Knight Arthur...I grid offered to help me out with buying a couple of items for when Shen went shopping , so kind, very nice pleasant people.... Arthur promptly showed us around...my two dogs scurried off noses to the ground then finally the kettle went on..... On the Monday I bought fire requirements, and on Monday night I lit a fire, later adding a couple of logs. How lovely! Took us back to our childhood, toasting tea cakes at the fireside. My cousin 86yrs old slept excellently....I less so, as I found the double bed a little hard....I'm used to a softer bed, but as the week went on I adjusted and was happy to wander off in my dreams... Some lovely areas for walking, with breath taking countryside and fabulous vistas... Our more smiley moments were coming across roadside barrows selling all kinds of goodies...made the obligatory visit to Whitby Abbey, Scarborough, Ryedale Museum at Hutton-le-Hole absolutely a must...finishing off with a mighty tasty meal at the pub next to the museum. While staying at the cottage I bought my vegetables from the top farm, the most yummy carrots I've tasted for a long time...but a huge selection of fruit and veg, eggs too.... It's peaceful, quiet, and dark with a clear sky so star gazing was an option too...Outdoor seating, if you delight in a glass of wine at the end of the day.... “It's the little things that make this cottage so special!” Last year we stayed in a sweet but very tiny cottage. So Manor Farm Cottage was a breathe of fresh air for us, with 3 very bouncy kids. A large kitchen diner, a comfortable lounge, a huge family bedroom for the kids and a decent double for us was just what we needed. But it was the food parcel, including fresh eggs from the owners' chickens, a huge array of toys, DVDs, books and sweets for the children, a lovely garden complete with BBQ and a Little Tykes car (our 4 year old was in heaven!) and then Catherine popping round with strawberries she had just picked - it was these things that made Manor Farm Cottage so special!

“Half Term Break” Just returned from Mile House East, where we stayed for 4 nights. The house is stunning and is set in a quiet village with an abundance of walks around the local area. The house is really well equipped with everything you could possibly need! We particularly liked the room over the barn with a snooker table and a great choice of board games and DVD’s to watch. Leyburn is a 10 minute drive away and the local pub just 2mins drive down the road to Carlton. We would recommend the walk from Bolton Castle to Aysgarth Fallls which takes in some stunning views of the local area. We stayed as 2 families with a pet dog and had a thoroughly enjoyable break.

“Spacious, comfortable, well-equipped property very close to the centre of York.” Great long weekend stay at Minster House - property large enough to accommodate 12 members of our family ranging in age from 0 - 86 years! Immaculately maintained, warm, comfortable and equipped to a very high standard - no qualms about visiting with a baby, every requirement met, even an Advent sterilizer! Refreshments provided on arrival (including tea, coffee, fresh milk and biscuits) were very welcome! Very close to all the attractions in York, in fact York Minster is less than 10 mins walk away! Owner attentive, helpful and responded rapidly to any query. No hesitation in recommending this property -we hope to visit Minster House again!

“fantastic cottage , catered for everything and warm and clean comfy.” my partner and two children aged 9 and 14 yrs stayed for three nights and we were dubious about our teenager "thinking it would be boring" how wrong were we. On arrival andrew and emma the owners made us feel warm and welcome and so grateful for the tea cofee ready .The cottage is spotlessly clean and everything you need is available . My partner fell in love with the fire and it was like the bahamas at times because he wanted to play the caveman with playing with fire. The bedding and beds were very clean and very comfy. Our teenager loved the cottage and often we found her sat in the main bedroom gazing and relaxing out the window . Fantastic day out on the steam train and good value for day ticket. Andrew and emma kept us all entertained with games and toys a huge thank you and now our other family are going to visit and we will certainly be back soon .We now only buy free range eggs so thank you for the knowledge you gave us too .

“A fabulous cottage. Would highly recommend.” We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Bellerby and the Yorkshire Dales which was made even more complete with our stay at Boar Cottage. A delightful property with the most enormous garden for our 2 boys to run around in. Bernie and David made us incredibly welcome with great advice on local attractions (Forbidden Corner went down a treat) and very welcome treats on arrival (the home made bread also went down a treat). The cottage is fabulous with everything needed for our short stay. A definite place to stay on our next visit.

“A hidden gem full of peace and quiet!” We were looking for a remote holiday to destress and unwind. We came across Daleside and thought we would give it a try. Absolute perfection. Peace and quiet personified. If you want phone signal and hustle and bustle then this is not the place for you (although we did have wifi ). We were greeted by the lovely Jackie and Ian and George the Labrador who was a big old softie. Jackie showed us round the house and showed us how everything worked. We were then left to our own devices. We took food with us and only ventured out to nearby Castleton to restock on essentials at the small co-op. Check out the tea room in the chapel, such friendly service and the cakes were amazing!! Whitby is only a short car journey away, as is Middlesbrough and Guisborough. We absolutely loved the peace and quiet, sheep bleating, chickens clucking, and not much else! No traffic. Pitch black on a night with a sky full of stars. If you are wanting a short break to unwind and unload the stresses of everyday life then I would heartly recommend Daleside. “Cosy and friendly” We booked the 2 cottages and they removed a door to make them straight through. The cottages had everything we needed and was plenty of room.yes they need a lick of paint and a tidy up but apart from that they are lovely. A 20 minute walk takes you into Whitby. It's about 6 pound to get back by taxi. I would recommend for families and would book again.
