“relaxing holiday outside rome but not far away” we spent a relaxing holiday with the family in a quiet place, outside Rome but only one hour from the city center.
Paola & Paul hospitality was great anf the kids (8 and 10) had a lot of fun with the swimming pool, the trampoline and the donkeys.
Paola is one of the best chef I have ever met, able to mix the traditional italian dishes with a lot creative ingredients (with some indian/asiatic influence) and with real bio products (if you can try to eat there!).
The appartment is very clean and lovely furnished in a nice rustical country style
We were a family of 5 over to attend a family wedding and picked Bellevue house for our stay, good decision. the house is up a quiet lane, private entrance, beautiful surroundings, lots of shrubs, trees and flowers. It was a joy to wake every morning and smell the jasmine that grows around the veranda while enjoying our morning esspresso . The beds were comfortable with fresh clean bed linens and extra duvets and blankets/rugs if needed, also lots of clean fresh towels for our use. We felt totally at home in Bellevue and were sorry that we had not booked for longer. …
Friendly + helpful hosts, terrific area and very relaxing
We loved our stay with Paola and her family. The appartment is very comfortable and you have a large orchard/garden to roam in. We had our breakfast beneath a canopy of grape vines every morning and used the pool every afternoon. The view of the mountains and the town of Velletri is beautiful almost always, but particularly early in the morning and at night when you wee the lights twinkling. I really enjoyed the very relaxed atmosphere and Paula's helpfulness. She offered tomotoes from her garden, which we used along with herbs from the garden to make spectacular sauce for our fresh pasta, bought in the nearby store. You can get almost anything at this store very cheaply. I didn't think I'd want to cook on my vacation, but we ended up cooking most of our meals, since it was so inexpensive to shop for wonderful produce, cheese and even meat in the area. It is so convenient to have Velletri around the corner with its cafe's, shops and very nice parks. We visited Rome by train and I am so glad that we didn't try to drive. The train was a lot of fun and you got to see the country side too. There are so many small, wonderful towns/villages to discover in the area. …
