STUDIO IN MARGINAL AVENUE, FACING THE SEA, PARKING
    A superb sea view

We loved the little studio because it affords magnificent views of the Armaçao de Pera beach, almost from end to end! It has a lift and all you need to do to get down to the beach is cross the road and go down a few steps. It's fantastic! However, it woud be nice if the key to the main door actually worked properly! (the door to the building, that is) Although the flat is situated in the middle of a vibrant pedestrianised avenue, with shops, cafés and restaurants, along which thousands of people stroll at all times, and in front of a children's amusement park, after midnight the place becomes perfectly quiet and you can just hear the sound of the waves! The apartment itself is very tastefully decorated in white and blue and has a lovely kitchen and bathroom, and enough space for a double bed and a table and chairs by the window, from which you can see the sea. We did miss, however, having proper reading lights. Unfortunately, although it has a terrace with a fabulous view, it is so very small that you can hardly move once you've sat down with your partner. It's really tiny and therefore not that comfortable! (I would remove the cupboard on the left, to give it a bit more space). Despite that, we used it every night for our light dinners, while watching the sea, the birds and the entertainments all around. Finally, although the kitchen is fitted with everything you may desire (cooker, oven, washing machine, fridge, etc), we were disappointed to find no coffee machine or cafetiere and nothing whatsoever in the way of sugar, salt, pepper and things of the sort, which we have always found in previous apartments. In any case, we did love the place, and, having a private garaje, we were able to get to other amazing places nearby, like Marinha, Ponta da Piedade, Carvoeiro, Silves Castle, Cape Saint Vincent, etc etc. Do try the "cataplana de peixe" at Hera Restaurant, by the fishermen's beach. Superb!! see more
APARTMENT IN FACING THE SEA, PARKING PLACE
Lovely Apartment in a lovely location

Amercia de Pera is a lovely resort with long sandy beaches. It suits people who like a relaxing holiday with a number of great restaurants specialising in fish at reasonable prices. If your looking for nightlife or a pint and full english breakfast this is not the resort for you. The apartment is situated on the front pedestrianised promenade on the 4th floor. It is a lovely apartment clean and well equipped with a wonderful view from the spacious balcony over the sea. It is a quiet location with 2 well stocked supermarkets within 100m. Though there is a TV it only has Portuguese channels however a DVD player is provided. WiFi is fast and reliable. Our stay was trouble free apart from some confusion on arrival which meant we had to wait a couple of hours before we could obtain the keys to get access. see more
    Vila Sonia, Sea view, pool
Good location in an elevated position so far reaching views

The villa has 4 bedrooms upstairs with only one ensuite, the other share a bathroom. We felt we could have done with another ensuite upstairs and in fact thought there was one behind a locked door off one of the bedrooms. Downstairs was a twin-bedded room with ensuite and another bathroom next to it which was obviously meant to be the downstairs cloakroom but was a full bathroom, which we could have done with upstairs! Everything was clean and tidy, though smelt a little musty. The kitchen was quite poorly equipped with not enough crockery or cutlery for 10 people so we couldn't put things in the dishwasher. It was difficult to find anything in the kitchen as there was no obvious organisation. It would be a challenge to cook for 10 with the limited resources! No properly sharp knives so take your own. We were a bit daunted by a pack of large dogs, not wild but allowed to roam free, which wandered around the parking area but they were quite friendly. They just hated strange cars so gave them a loud send off! see more
