Fantastic UK holidays are available at thousands of private holiday homes dotted up and down the country. Whether you fancy cream teas in Devon, vibrant city breaks in London or a Highland fling in Scotland, there are plenty of UK breaks that really cut the mustard.
Explore England and its varied landscape – spend your break in a charming Cotswold cottage or visit the Lake District or the Norfolk Broads. In Wales, book a city break in Cardiff or Swansea, test out your surfing skills on the Gower or find out why so many fall in love with Snowdonia and Anglesey.
Go to Scotland to join the crowds at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Military Tattoo. You could take to the slopes in Aviemore or get back to nature on the Isle of Skye. Northern Ireland has plenty to tempt the traveller too: visit Belfast, the walled city of Derry or see the natural beauty of the Fermanagh Lakelands.

We appreciate that cleaning errors can be made and as with any property, there are occasions when emergencies occur and a rapid response is required. In this case the housekeeper arrived, with the cleaner within 90 minutes of the first phone call. However, her offer to re-clean the cottage was turned down. There was a small rust mark (5p size) on one of the towels and when pointed out to her, the towel was replaced immediately by the housekeeper.
Having received a phone call at 7.45pm regarding the shower leaking, the housekeeper arranged for the plumber to visit at 8.30am the next morning having first established that once the shower was turned off, the leak stopped. We understand that this lady’s son told the plumber that he thought he may not have closed the shower door properly. There were no leaks from the shower before or after this booking. There is no problem with the ceiling. Ceilings in old cottages are uneven!
Rosemary Cottage was assessed by Quality in Tourism one week prior to this guest’s arrival. It was awarded 4 stars, with a cleanliness rating of 95%. Quality in Tourism (QiT) is the official assessment service provided for VisitEngland, the national tourism agency. We are happy to provide a copy, on request, of their assessment
We have never made a call out charge in the past, and would only do so in extreme circumstances – and certainly never when there was a genuine problem.
We would just like to quote one guest who stayed in the cottage in May 2012
“We stayed in Rosemary Cottage last week and I would just like to say what a lovely place it is. We are staying in different cottages for several weeks at the moment and it's always so much more pleasant to stay in one like yours…….”
We were very sorry that Rosemary Cottage did not meet this guest’s pre-arrival expectations and that nothing we could do would change this.
