About Tarpon Springs
Located just 45 minutes south of St Petersburg, Tarpon Springs is a new and upcoming tourist attraction, which is currently undergoing a great deal of redevelopment.
It was first settled by farmers in 1876, and Greek immigrants came to enter the region during the 1890s to work within the sponge industry. Today, there is still a small focus on the sponge industry and visitors may even catch a glimpse of fishermen working at the sponge docks.
