“a great place for the traveler seeking peace and comfort at an a” It was like home away from home, a base from which to explore the surrounding area . It was neat with everything you need to cook, relax, and be comfortable. We enjoyed the peace and restful nature of the neighborhood, feeling less like tourists. We went to the Lowry Park zoo, Sand Key beach, the great botanical gardens in St. Pete with the heritage center nearby, drove up the coast to Tarpon Springs with its history and Greek heritage center. Our trip was short but there is plenty more to do in the area for longer stays. If we return to Tampa , we will try to get this rental again!
“Pleasant home away from home” We came to Tampa on a work contract for a couple of months. We didn't want to stay in a hotel that long and were not really happy with the corporate housing choices that were available. We found the rental on the Mockingbird website. It photographed well, historic neighborhood, 10 minutes from my job site;so we decided to take a chance. Fantastic decision! We were hoping for something tolerable, this exceeded all of our expectations. Mike and Lysa did an excellent job on this rental (my wife found some "before pictures") and really turned it into a gem of a place. The house is very cozy and comfortable, friendly neighborhood that's a short walk down to the river, a nice kid's playset in a huge back yard with big trees and squirrels (which our puppy loved) enclosed by a new wooden fence. We usually ate dinner on the relaxing back patio. It was a very pleasant place to stay; it really did feel like a home away from home.
Of note: The contract lead to a permanent job and we have now moved to Tampa. We have stayed in contact with Mike and Lysa and will always refer folks to them when we have the opportunity.
