Llangennith Beach is best known for its surfing. Celebrated as one of the top ten surf spots in the United Kingdom, it has many features to recommend it. The surf accommodates all levels of surfers; it consistently has good waves and theres plenty of room for everyone. Its suitable for the whole family (including the dog) and sports enthusiasts love it too. Just look out for the shipwrecks below the surface. There are also schools here in the summer where you can learn to surf or brush up your skills.
If surfing isnt your thing, you can watch the waves crash in or build a sand castle. From here youll be able to see the dragon-shape promontory called Worms Head in the distance or watch paragliders float down from Rhossili Downs. Access is fairly easy from the car park and the nearby town of Llangennith is just beyond the sand dunes. When youre hungry, its well worth trying The Kings Head, which is a popular choice with surfers and campers in the summer.
While youre in the area, you could try Caswell Bay for its beach and coastal walks. Or maybe explore the Gower Peninsulas miles of coves and rugged terrain.
