“Suited everyone” My family and came here for my 70th birthday celebration. Three couples, two singles,a three year old and a baby all fitted in happily with room to spare. Kite flying was one of the highlights, as was a trip out on the nearby miniature railway (Dungerness) Plenty of cooking equipment and the three kitchens meant all our meals could be catered for. Angela warned us about the steep stairs with older folk in mind. We found it was the 3yr old who needed special care on the stairs, but they were do-able. The views from the top floor are worth it! Definitely recommended.

“A charming little house right on the sea giving easy access to the beach for walks” The property is right on the beach with a seaside feel. The kitchen is updated and the accommodation which is accurately shown on the pictures is good value for money. You are right on the beach in fact the back garden is just fenced in beach. Great for walks and sea watching. There is easy access to Brighton, Eastbourne, Bexhill and Hastings for seaside, piers, and non chain shopping e.g. the Lanes in Brighton or Hastings/ Lewes for antique type shopping.

“Beautiful home from home” A wonderful few days at this perfect house. We were only 2.5 but it would have comfortably slept 6. Very nicely decorated and ideal location for old town and the nice bit of Hastings seafront. It’s my third annual trip with my 3 year old and the “magicl” passageways and steps around the house were exciting for him too! Thank you!

“Fab cottage!” Waves is a spotlessly clean, comfortable cottage with everything you could possibly need for your stay. Comfy beds, well equipped kitchen and a warm lounge area to chill in after a long day exploring in windy October. A nice touch for the milk in the fridge and biscuits on arrival too! We had a 3 night stay but would stay longer next time to see more of East Sussex once there are more sites reopened post Covid-19. Dont miss the fabulous sunsets at Camber, and it's a great base for Rye, Hastings, Dungeness, plus other nearby seaside towns and historic sites. We would recommend eating at The Owl pub/restaurant within walking distance and The Ship Inn in Rye. Nic is a welcoming and accommodating host, and we look forward to our next stay at the cottage very soon. Highly recommended!!

“suited or needs perfectly” Needed to find somewhere close to Eastbourne and that would also accommodate a dog. On the beach was a perfect find. The property was spotless and well equipped. Plenty of parking space. It's a very peaceful location. All being well we'd certainly use 'On the beach' again.

“Delightful bungalow, great location” Dolphins really is as nice as it looks in the photos. It's clean, uncluttered, very comfortable beds, nice furniture and a lovely conservatory. There's a small, private garden that's well maintained and quite a sun trap. I had my elderly, disabled mother with me and it was easy for her to move around and there was even a seat for the shower which was a great help. The local shops and cafes are a 5 minute walk away and the beach is at the end of the road. For more eateries and a large supermarket Sovereign Harbour is a 5 minute drive away. I can certainly recommend Dolphins for a pleasant stay on the south coast and I hope to stay again myself next year.

“Fantastic Farm Getaway!” We stayed at The Games Barn withour Parents and our 2 and 6 year old. The Barn had every comfort you needed, I cant actually believe I packed things for the children to be occupied with as this Barn is packed with Videos, Games (for young and old) and books! However, we didnt really use any of this as we had the most fun exporing and really enjoying daily farm life. You wake up in the morning and look onto a field with your cuppa and watch Charlie the Horse and Summer the Pony grazing. Look a bit to the left you have piglets and a bit more left and you have sheep in the field next to you! The decking area is great, you can hear the farm's stream trickling waters from your seat.. And if you're lucky Doris the Mummy pig will be having a little rest in her pen of which all can be seen from the Barn! My daughters (age 2 and 6) were up every morning and also in the afternoon to help Madeleine feed all the animals. They thought this was amzing - getting so close to the animals and learning so much about them too (we did too!!) My eldest loved collecting the eggs and even the little one feeding the chickens and ducks in turn. It was such a delight to see. There is so much to see at the Farm - from exploring the wildlife pond at the top field, going to see Homer the Daddy Pig ( and goodness me he is HUGE but so gorgeous ) who comes over when he can hear you talking and also the two little cows and some MORE sheep inc. Lambo of course. We had a lovely view of the sun going down also at the top field. The farm also has ancient woodland to explore by the stream over the weir which we all had great fun seeing Doris have a little drink and also building a little den with fallen sticks. The farm is situated about a 10 minute walk from Mayfield village, which is a lovley walk through the valley, fields and woodland ( with a great bridge to play The Three Billy Goats Gruff!) Mayfield itself is beautiful with beautiful buildings and you have your pick of some lovely pubs The Middle House being our favourite. You can even order Fred and Madeleine's Pork on the menu! Or you could just stock up while your at the barn as we did - delicious sausages for breakfast with same day fresh duck and hen eggs? Or some lamb for dinner? Yes Please! We had glorious weather for our week at Cranesden farm and made use of the seaside and Ashdown Forest which are all nearby - it really is an excellent base for walks, cycling and sightseeing - the area is really beautiful.... Fred and Madeleine were so welcoming and were fantastic with our children everyday - we really did have the most special week and were very sad to leave Chewo the Sheep Dog, George and Geraldine and all the other little Ducks and Hens so the only thing to do was to book again for Easter and go back!! If you are looking for a home from home with beautiful surroundings, great hosts and a real taste of farm life this is absolutely the place for you.....

“Incredibly Helpful” Very well appointed shepherds hut. Ingenious use of space and very private. Everything you could want is provided. We also suffered a bit of a disaster with our car on the second night of our stay and Sue and Tim could not have been more helpful in remedying the situation.
