“Everything you could want from a cottage getaway!” Providing a pleasant and straight-forwards journey through the countryside, this barn is the perfect place for a 2-person vacation. The surroundings are full of various walks, runs, cycles and activities such as clay pigeon shooting are only a short drive away.
The accommodation is top-notch, they provide milk, dish-washing tablets, toiletries, unlimited fuel for the log-burner and even had the electric blanket for the bed switched on when we arrived. It was all these small touches that helped to make it the great experience that it was.
(By the way, the TV is newer than the one in the photo).
“What a great place” This truely is a first class place to stay. We stayed as a family and felt very comfortable and well catered for. The furnishings are very tasteful and the attention given to our arrival was second-to-none.
We have already recommended this place to others and would certinaly wish to come back. Wells is a lovely place and some very nice places to eat too. The cottage has a great central location and is ideal for touring around and discovering the local delights.
Thank you very much for a lovely stay and will return.

“Perfect cottage for our stay in Portishead” The Fisherman's Cottage was a wonderful place to stay in Portishead while we visited my daughter who lives around the corner on Lockside. We had a great view of the Severn estuary and a short walk to the lock and marina. Costa Coffee and Waitrose also an easy walk away. The bedrooms were fine with enough closet space for our things. The bathrooms were modern and everything was spotless. Since we were there for 3 weeks, the Mayes even had someone come in the 2nd week to do a cleaning which was very nice. All in all a perfect fit for us and would highly recommend.

“Absolutely perfect, ticked every box” I am not usually moved to write reviews but I must take this opportunity to say how completely perfect this flat was for us for a weekend in Bath. It is perfectly presented, every convenience supplied and spotlessly clean. David and Louisa were superbly efficient, punctual and courteous and we could have asked for nothing different.
It is gloriously quiet location, an easy walk into town centre, lots of restaurants close by and parking was straightforward.
We would definitely use this apartment again if we were in Bath.
“Perfect house for families to share” Where to start reviewing our stay at Midsomer House, we were a group of three families; 6 adults and 7 children from 0-7. When looking for somewhere to stay with our Spanish friends I wanted something close to lots of things, spacious enough to not get on each other nerves, and that could be a refuge should we get normal British summer weather (aka rain). I can safely say that this house is this and so much more.
Firstly the bedrooms, we used 5 out of the 6 rooms and had space for more. There are 3 showers upstairs, 2 toilets and comfortable warm beds. If that wasn't enough every room has a clock radio that some of the children enjoyed dancing to.
Downstairs the 2 living rooms gave us adults our own space while the children could play with the plentiful toys and games provided in the other living room, or watch one of the many DVDs, or a movie on the Sky TV (in every room).
The kitchen was where we spent most of our time and all of us fitted around the giant table, and a high chair was kindly provided. The range cooker was amazing, there was a downstairs cloakroom and the dishwasher and washing machine were a godsend (and tablets were provided). It was a really nice surprise when we arrived that the fridge was stocked with milk, bread and butter.
The games room wasn't really needed during our stay thanks to the weather but we did fit in one game of pool on our last night. As a geek I am amazing by the technology in the house. Hive heating, touch screen weather info in the kitchen, WiFi throughout the house and SKY TV in every room. This is my dream home.
However it didn't stop there, outside was amazing. The enclosed garden was much loved by the children, so much in fact that getting them to go out was difficult. They loved playing on the trampoline, the climbing frame and in the playhouse. For adults the hot tub was amazing and so needed after getting the children to bed.
To top all this off the BBQ lodge was so easy to use and we had a lovely BBQ birthday party for my 1 year old daughter.
Nearby there is so much to do, we did a day out to Wooky Hole (using clubcard points), a day in Bath, a trip to Peppa Pig World (1hr 30 mins), a day in the house, and on the last day an amazing morning at Farringtons play barn (5 mins away).
Brett (the owner) was responsive to all queries before the stay and after we arrived I emailed him to ask about some bedsheets and he phoned me 5 minutes later from Spain. All in all amazing, I am sure my Spanish friends will review this too. I would recommend this to everyone and I would love to stay here again in the future.
Fantastic house that made a great break for all in our party , young and old. The children loved the conservatory area with pool table and hot tub on the deck.

“Lovely stay over the Easter weekend” My partner and I had a lovely stay at Bath North Lodge garden apartment. The apartment is in an excellent location, just a short walk from the centre of Bath, and you can easily take a taxi for approximately £5 if you prefer not to walk. It is a great size for 2 people and is perfectly clean and comfortable. The availability of a parking space in Trevor and Eileen's drive way is a bonus, as parking can be expensive when staying at other places in Bath. On arrival, we were greeted by Easter biscuits, bread, milk and eggs as a welcome gift. We found almost everything we needed in the apartment, and even when we weren't able to find an iron, Trevor and Eileen came home to lend us theirs! We would highly recommend the apartment, and the very accommodating hosts.
“Lovely cottage stay near Bath” Lovely cottage that suited our needs very well for a week (2 adults and a toddler). We thought it was a pretty cottage, decorated in a lovely style and had all the amenities we needed, for our first week of travel in England. The spiral staircase is a bit of a pain to negotiate with luggage, but guess that only happens twice during the week. It was nice to be a little away from Bath itself.

“Beautiful cottage, really friendly and helpful owner.” The house was newly refurbished. Really comfortable and immaculately laid out. Great beds, great shower, well-equipped, modern kitchen. And we were welcomed by a bottle of wine in the fridge!
