“Charming, private, characteristic & excellent location” The property is detached and in a private garden offering seclusion and an interesting garden full of birds. Its location close to the walking trail to Tortuga beach, one of the most spectacular we came across, is within easy walking distance. In the opposite direction within a few minutes walk are shops, restaurants and the harbour. The facilities provided, including full kitchen and a BBQ, good shower and bathroom, were very good. The property is clean and well serviced by the very helpful Maria. The transfer arrangements to and from the house worked perfectly. Maybe a couple of the furnishings could do with a little renewal but not enough to detract from the overall lovely property and location. The price of the weeks rental seemed very fair and reasonable. We wish we had the time to stay longer.

“Wonderful!!” My 14-year-old son and I stayed in this beautiful home while we visited the Galapagos because all the space for the money was totally worth it. (When I was looking for hotels, the ones I was finding online were expensive, over $250.) Tatjana, the owner, answered all my questions in a timely manner. Marco, the taxi driver who picked us up, was great and helpful. Maria, the housekeeper who checked us in and out, was extremely nice. (I speak enough Spanish to get by, so that wasn't ever an issue.) Villa Opuntia had all the comforts of home, including a fully stocked kitchen, a small library, movies, a cell phone for local calls, a washer and dryer...the king-size bed in the master bedroom was so comfortable! I also loved the two rooftop verandas. Though the pictures showed us what the home would look like, we were so pleasantly surprised to see it in person. On the downside (which is very minor), I wasn't used to seeing so many bugs and lizards, but this is an island, so I got used to it. :-) Also, this home is several blocks from the water/dock, but because it's so wonderful, we didn't mind the walk and not being right on the water. By the way, we felt very safe there. The home had an alarm system, but I probably never needed to use it (just habit). If we ever go back to the Galapagos, I'll try to rent this home again or any other property this owner has!!

“superb house rental” You cannot do better than rent this house - sleeps 6 in 3 beautiful tooms, and has all the extras that you would want - esp in the kitchen and snorkelling gear! The hammocks were a definate favourite with our group, and the extra space allowed us to relax when we didnt feel like going out. We used the blenders to make fresh fruit juice every day and the kitchen equipment was enough for a BBQ with friends... cannot put into words how happy we were! Marta the housekeeper was a gem, and made us feel so welcome. It is only a 10 minute walk into town, so very easy to find, and with a bakery only a 5 minute walk away.. you have everything you need. There wasnt anything I disliked about the house at all!
