My apartment in rieux minervois was absolutely fantastic and I could not find anything it did not provide. From great towels to every single kitchen utensil and item you could imagine.
The English owners clearly understand what English people travelling abroad expect and like so as well as being spotlessly clean the welcome pack provided every essential and some pleasures not expected.
Providing you have a car and are simply looking for a lovely base this is perfect for two adults and two children.

Fabulous, relaxing holiday in idyllic surroundings
We have just returned from a fantastic 2 week holiday at Maison Galloise. It was without a doubt, the best holiday we have had in many years and our 2 children (aged 8 and 10) want to go back already!
From the outset, Ross and Baden went above and beyond in providing us with all relevant information about the villa itself and things to do in the immediate locality and surrounding areas. They were both extremely friendly and helpful and took any hassle out of planning our stay.
It is very rare to find a villa which affords this level of privacy, tranquillity, and space, while at the same time being just a short stroll from the local town and all of the essentials such as the supermarket, restaurants, cave and bakeries. The view from the gateway is one of vineyards as far as the eye can see. The outside is really well laid out too, with plenty of places to sit and lie around and a large garden to use the bicycles and other sports equipment kindly provided.
Inside, the villa has everything you could need and we were so comfortable there. It felt like a 'home from home', we felt less like we were staying in a rented holiday villa and more like we were visiting the home of friends. Our 2 children even slept in every morning, which is normally unheard of, even on holidays!
The pool was lovely too, as well as its generous size, it was always a lovely temperature so you didn't have to brace yourself for that first dive in.
The games room was an absolute gift, it is very cool and shaded and with the darts board, table football and pool table, it kept our kids (and ourselves) entertained when we wanted a break from the August sunshine.
This is also a great base for exploring the area, there are so many lovely towns and villages nearby and there is also plenty to amuse children. Highlights for us were our visits to the medieval Cite in Carcassonne, a lovely barge trip from Homps along the canal du midi, visits to the local caves as well as trips to the Parc Australien and the Parc Acrobatique with the kids.
We would not hesitate to recommend this villa- you will not be disappointed-and we very much hope to return ourselves before too long. …
